I've heard via an email sent through MHP Chat that former YTV continuity announcer Paul Lally passed away in October.

Luxmy Gopal has made the jump to the main programme quickly, from presenting Look North for the first time only a few weeks ago, to hosting the main programme with Harry this week.

I notice she read the story about Christa rather than Harry. The report itself was done by Spencer Stokes, I’m surprised Len Tingle didn’t do it.

Maybe she was drafted in due to having to cover the story on Christa? As you say they made sure to only focus on her during the report rather than Harry.

Have they ever actually had a permanent replacement for Christa since she departed? It was billed as Harry along Amy Garcia initially but whenever I tune in these days, which admittedly isn't that often, it seems to be often a pick and mix of presenters sat on the sofa at 6:30pm!

Harry trailed the report in the headlines, so he wasn’t made to fully avoid it. Think Luxmy also presented yesterday IIRC.

Always funny to hear the phrase “nobody from the BBC was available for comment” on a BBC report.

Amy was the main replacement, but after returning from maternity she seems to have a reduced role so others are sharing presenting duties.

Wonder if we'll ever see Clare Frisby on the 6.30 again?

Not really Len's area, he's the Political Editor, although I see James Vincent also seems to have the same title of late.

What has happened to the Sheffield DTL position? I'm sure the picture quality never looked so bad – it even makes the Leeds studio's PQ look decent.

And as for that hideous Radio Sheffield branding, surely it should carry a warning for migraine sufferers.

Seriously, how can anyone at Look North see this and think it looks acceptable on screen...?

I found it amusing the other day on Breakfast that they still bothered with a ‘LIVE Sheffield’ bug top left

I wonder if that text is there to hide the fact that most of the time when that position is seen on screen the newsroom is near enough deserted?

Do they still have the cleaner who balances tea-trays on her head?
