Erm, well I know at least one of them does... Smile Just the BBC thinking they can say something when it's less than true - would never happen surely Smile

I do though like the new jingles on the whole - three days in - though some of the singy bits and the satellite weather still really, really grate and, like you Andrew, the toth sequence just seems unbalanced with the travel in it.... 15secs news heads, 10secs weather, 45secs travel Confused

New initiative on the Hull Look North in the novelty article front: they now have a variation on the 'Leave it to Levy' theme, 'Leave THEM To Levy'! Parents can drop their kids off with Peter, have a day off from them while Peter entertains them for a day! My parents have asked me to ask Peter when exactly can they leave me with Levy to get me out of their hair for a day!! Cheeky gits....

They're probably fed up about you banging on about the BBC and like most of us would like to drop you off!

As for brand loyalty, what a joke - more like incessant creeping to try and get a runners job with the BBC.

It has to be said that your BBC stance simply appears to be like a small child just accepting something (like a football team) is right and forever defending them for ever more. Face it, the BBC is overstaffed, over funded and plainly poor. I challenge you to come up with a BBC schedule you think I would like, that is sufficiently different from other commercial channels. Go on, take up my challenge Kat!

This is verging on personal attack territory huddy, and I am not going to rise to your bait by responding publically.

Please take this into Private Messaging.

Like the travel jingle - sounds very nice having some proper sung jingles. But "with more updates than the other guys?" - what were they thinking!? That will go in a few weeks I bet...

Not too sure on the top of the hour sequence...I like the formation of it - and I personally think the OLD version had the edge to it. Just sounds better.

Indeed, a better way would be to move the travel back to :58 and just have a travel headline in the TOTH instead of an entire bulletin.

This new phone number seems to be troublesome, 0845 303 33 33 with presenters tripping over it, god knows how you are supposed to say it, unless it's going to be a Big Breakfast style 'all the 3s'. Not sure why they had to change numbers when moving building, and strange is that the matching Text number 07786 202 924 has been kept.

Finally, Bob Walmsley's 2-4pm jingle says "Making your work day go faster #Today's West Yorkshire # BBC Radio Leeds", so further alienating the Blue Rinser audience!!

Just noticed, AT LAST, that Look North in Hull have now changed the contact details at the bottom of the home page of their website from Chapel Street to Queen's Gardens. Oddly, throughout the rest of the site, the Chapel Street address remains...... it's a bit unfair that Helen Philpot hasn't got her own presenter profile up there as well!

I'd also like to see profile details for each of their main reporters and other presenters like Hannah Moffatt, Simon Clark, Caroline Davis, Paul Murphy, Matt Richards, Matthew Gull, Jenny Hill and Nicola Hudson. Midlands Today have fairly comprehensive sports/reporters profiles (well done guys!) and maybe Look North in Hull could learn from this. The site could be great but it's lacking in substance a bit, just falls short.....

Yes... the split personality does somewhat remain. If anything it's more pronounced now than ever... I know you need to be bold to change your audience but Radio 2 does so well in West Yorkshire - always a struggle for anyone - commercial radio or bbc local - to fit in.

As for the travel - most of the time for any station round Leeds you could pre-record the rush hour problems... let's see: M62 busy between Brighouse and Leeds, M1 busy between Wakefield and Leeds, inner ring road busy, all the town and city centres busy...

And the number change does admittedly seem odd - are they wanting a non-frequency specific number (though the text does seem the exception), seems somewhat odd... but am sure there is a reason.

for professionalism: http://www.bbc.co.uk/england/looknorthhull/

Oh - come on, what about Look North NE&C???

From what I've seen, the Hull edition of Look North seems much more professional than the Leeds one in terms of presentation. Okay, there may be a few technical glitches at the moment, but any relatively new news programme is going to experience these, as I'm sure Look Leeds will when they move to Quarry Hill.

Look North Leeds is starting to look dated now, can't wait until they move to quarry hill Very Happy

Christa and Harry look decidedly dated! Could they leave them at Woodhouse Lane possibly? Wink

EDIT: Has anyone else noticed how Christa's currently got exactly the same hairdo as the camp Geordie CBBC presenter who used to be in Byker Grove?

How many studios have Radio Leeds got in the new building? Aparently Chris Moyles will be doing his show from there tomorrow, as will Phil Jupitus on 6 Music (presumably for the Leeds Festival), so does that mean Andrew and Liz will be in Bradford, or even at Woodhouse Lane or do they have more than 2 on-air studios?

Now then, after making that jugement, are you going to be constructive about it and send them a polite letter/e-mail telling them how they can improve, or will these thoughts not emerge from your head to help them satisfy your 'professional' aspirations for the show?

Take me for example; I dropped them a pro-active e-mail about their website not perhaps being as extensive as it could be, how key people like Helen Philpot are missing a biography on the site and now they're setting about improving it and making it more substantial.....
