It would be out of the safe areas. The V logo is the same length as the BBC logo.
I'm sure the few people watching on 4:3 centre cut-out will not be that upset at missing out on a logo that serves no purpose apart from telling you that, yes, you are in fact watching Victoria Derbyshire's show.
Why can't the logo be to the left of the BBCX News logo and then everything align as it normally would on the NC?

Yes, I see where you coming from on this one.
It reminds me of ice cream for some reason.

Not really. At least the heads at 10.30 were on time and not shunted because of a 'lovely film'
I'm wondering if the reason why the weather forecast just before 10am is padded so much with the unwanted contribution from Ms Derbyshire is to make up for the lack of forecasts at 9.27 and 10.27?

Was there any notable shift in tone or agenda with the show being only on the news channel today?

I've logged in for the first time in what must be years to defend this programme. We have BBC news on at work and I've noticed that people actually seem to pay more attention to Victoria Derbyshire's show than to normal rolling news. The films and studio debates have started a few discussions over the past couple of weeks, which would normally only be the case for major breaking news stories. I suspect that, much as people tend not to get their news only from the formal evening bulletins, the importance of rolling news 24/7 is being much overplayed on this forum.

It would only be out of the safe areas that BBC World News (are supposed to but don't) use wouldn't it? (I say this as I watched BBC World News in 14:9 letterbox recently and lots of graphics were cropped such that they were unreadable)
The BBC News Channel, like the rest of the BBC domestically, stopped having to use 14:9 and 4:3 graphics safe areas when analogue TV was switched off (apart from sport host broadcasting where 4:3 graphics safe is often still required and for credits which need to be safe AFTER the ECP slide)
BBC TV content is now commissioned to be 16:9 graphics safe (54 lines / 5% from top and bottom, 192 pixels / 10% from left and right - if you are 1920x1080)

Although they are not including the News Channel figures, where it has around 0.1 million viewers, slightly less than Sky was getting at the same time.

No surprise considering it was the only day of the week it was on BBC2 - anyone interested probably just stuck with watching it on the news channel.
The BBC and sensible scheduling are never two things that go hand in hand but considering they knew it would be off BBC2 soon after it launched it would have made even more sense to hold it back until after the election.

This is exactly why i cannot see the show lasting long term-in fact i wouldn't be surprised if it's axed by the end of May as it surely can't continue on these ratings.
