Ropey start... and bland backdrop for Jeremy

HD On Screen Graphics on the SD broadcast, normal for elections?

Nah, its happened before on normal broadcasts as well.

Very ropey start, usual TOTH at 22:30, a remix of the decision time music, then cuts back to Jeremy who does not seem to know that he is on air, like he was waiting for something such as a voiceover, after a few seconds he realises!

I notice the traditional Sky News clock doesn't sync up with the live clock in the top right.

Graphics are crap on HD, they're going for a broadcast that is neither 16:9 or 4:3 it's something inbetween

No safe areas on SD anymore.

except its not the real HD graphics, its just the SD graphics (Logo & Ticker & Live Bug) moved to take up the full width of the screen - HD Dimensions.

I wonder if its permanent?

I think Sky put in their press release that the side bar panels usually seen on HD will be shown on SD as well for the election broadcast tonight.

Not a fan of the HD ticker and logo being moves slightly to the right, I don't see why they had to change it.

It's not HD graphics, HD graphics are right in the corner, these graphics have a few cm safe one to the left and right of them, I rewinded and since 22:30 the graphics on HD have shifted to be more central which is crazy

Why did they need to change the HD graphics? All we have now is less screen room as they're now showing a safe buffer to the left of the picture and one to the right?

Seems that the graphics on HD are the same as the ones on SD, which seems to be some kind of half way house between Standard Sky News HD and Standard Sky News SD.

SD looks better but HD looks worse with the set they're using tonight. We seem to have lost wooshes too.

Too much head room on most of the camera shots including JT and reporters...

Loving the hand-offs to each reporter from the major states, just goes to show the vast amount of resources Sky have put into this election.
