I totally disagree. I loved the look of Daybreak's first incarnation. I think the problem was viewers were too used to the GMTV colour pallet of orange, red and yellow. Daybreak's purple, yellow and white was too much of a change for the loyal viewers.
Daybreak had an empty studio, horrible.

I'll miss the evening Press Preview's from the giant screen. The only negative about Sunrise currently is the paper reviews coming from a crowded desk area.

Too much of a change - as in it looked like the corner of a badly lit nightclub.
From the pics I've seen of the new Sky News studio I'm sure it's shaping up to look great on screen. I think some on here can't grasp that it's not ready yet!

I thought it was way too "cold" for who the show was targeting.
Maybe it will work for a news channel.

Not sure because we had Cam 1 in this picture a while ago.
I think I've seen that numbering style (sequential numbering regardless of studio) in the current facility based on Twitter pictures.
Cameras 8-11?
Take it cams 1-7 are in the 'other' new studio, or are they over in the current Sky News Centre?

Looks like there's a setup for an exterior shot of the cube, a la BBC.

Of course there was always going to be a outside 'from atrium' shot. Why else would they go to the expence of putting that LED ticker ribbon on it?

Perhaps for the same reason they've filled the entirety of their office complex with all manner of electronic signs and billboards?
Apologies if my awfully obvious post distracted from discussion of newsreader pregnancies.
