Why is it taking Sky News a lot longer to implement their new logo on screen than Cinema, Sports, etc?
Are there technical reasons I am not aware of?
I have no idea, but it’s possible they’re just waiting until a wider refresh.
Perhaps it’s a bigger process than the other brands mentioned ie. larger scale operation/various programmes, title cards and teams/larger social media and digital presence. Whereas cinema and sports may have a few channels but behind the scenes operations maybe more streamlined, smaller teams etc.
I'm not sure what Sky News's longer term plans are with NBC, in terms of collaboration, but considering how many correspondents they have out in the US at any given time, plus the amount of news that is coming from there and likely to for the foreseeable future, could they not have some actual studio space? Even if it's the size of Ian King's city studio. Surely NBC can spare a corner. Rather than them constantly presenting from a roof top.
The roof, along with the desk looked great for the election, just would be nice to share more resources with NBC. I know there were plans afoot until Covid.

They do have a down-the-line studio in their DC bureau, and can use the rooftop (of course). It would be nice to have an actual studio there, but I can only see that happening if Sky decide they will have a permanent DC-based show. Personally, I don't see that happening.
Out of interest, whilst Kay has flown back, Adam Boulton hasn't. He's presenting from the rooftop this afternoon.

Have Gillian and Dermot flown back yet?
After what she said at the end of her show yesterday I expect Kay to go back out there for the inauguration
No Early Rundown today - Niall presented from 6am from Westminster with ‘Kay Burley’ branding.
Did anyone else notice this morning how slightly awkward it was for Niall when he was speaking that the breakfast programme still doesn't have a spoken name.
Please Sky give it a f***ing name, Kay Burley@Breakfast served its purpose fine

Not sure about Dermot but Gillian said on Twitter yesterday she was heading back to the UK shortly.
I've removed a couple of posts as we're creeping back into rota talk here. There's been some concession during a certain major event recently but it shouldn't become the norm. If you want to know who out of a regular roster of presenters is presenting when...follow their Twitter feed!
That clearly shows why we lost all of the music and some of the election graphics after a couple of days - clearly a lot of that was coming from the manual gallery that you saw being turned off at the end of the video and obviously once they had gone back to the automation the assets etc wouldn't have been available as they were probably never created on the automated systems etc.
