Hopefully this "New Graphic" does not rule out the expected and long overdue wider refresh.

Even weirder that they have made such a point of it being 'Kay Burley' with this new graphic when she wasn't even hosting. Surely, you'd put less focus on the brand when she isn't there. Of course, the show would still be Kay Burley but unnecessary in my view to have Steven stood next to the screen with it displayed so prominently.

Forgive me for suggesting this but maybe people are reading a bit much into this.
Presumably they had to use a different graphic/backdrop to usual because the show was from the Glass Box today for whatever reason.

Previously, Niall has covered from Westminster and it’s been pretty much Kay’s show and presentation just without her there as there’s no title card. However as it was anchored in a different location to normal they used a different backdrop (would be odd using a Westminster backdrop with the show not in Westminster).
And repeat after me not every single slightly graphical/presentational change is some hidden clue to a new look or channel wide change. You’d think after a while might stop reading too much into small tweaks like these as you then end up setting yourself up for disappointment - if there are big changes upcoming we’ll be well aware of them on here ahead of time.

Have to say too since ‘Victoria Derbyshire’ the show is no more, ‘Kay Burley’ the programme seems to now be the programme that can’t win on here whatever they do - even though it’s probably the best Sky Breakfast iteration in a while in terms of distinctiveness, headline making interviews etc

The show itself is great and a marked improvement on the most recent Sunrise outing. Kay is always brilliant in any slot but the presentation really does let the show down. It just doesn't stand out enough. I appreciate that it might seem we are going around in circles and speculating but this is a presentation forum after all... There were murmurs of the wider refresh coming in November. Not sure if that is still the case but perhaps @Valley has more info??

Expect to see the graphic which went in the wall in the Glass Box again - as a title card out of the openers. Not sure if it might just be a temporary measure whilst Kay is in Washington.

Tuesday edit: seems like that’s no longer the plan.

Obviously the election will see different graphics (which we've already seen a sneak peak of) but beyond that... not sure about the timescale for a larger overall graphic refresh.

I suppose that’s what was raised yesterday; a week or at a least few days early. I’m not sure the UK news agenda was ever to be US Election led or dominated today, covid/track and trace/Welsh firebreak/free school meals were always going to feature higher.

My point regarding the graphic, was more about the fact it wasn’t in the style of the usual programme title cards/ever used before. I’m not quite sure why Kay Burley’s programme, and Sky News at Ten for that matter, don’t have title cards when other branded slots do.

But doesn’t Sky News at Ten have a completely different opening to every other slot too - the clock face forming?

Here’s the big screen graphic, for anyone that didn’t see it

I hope that's temporary! It looks awful. And if it's an indicator of the direction they're heading in, then I'm not looking forward to it.

Colour is trying to raise funds for it's bail money after it's arrest by the colour police in the lead up to that.

And aso funnily enough I have spotted advertisements for the first time for her show in the ticker : Kay Burley, the only breakfast show live from Westminster.. or something like that, the first time she WASNT in Westminster...

But I am sure sky news still has to receive the new logo in order to be in line with the other sky logos?

Apologies as the post may have been more sarky than intended. It was probably more irritation than anything as it can feel like sometimes an insider will hint at a change, people will then speculate into a frenzy and normally assume an entire new look is on the way then be disappointed/upset when those expectations are not met even when nobody hinted at anything close to it and then it’s not long before the OTT ‘Tesco Extra’ type posts appear. It can all get slightly tiresome at times.

And I love a slightly cynical post as much as anyone but it does feel like people are also waiting for an opportunity to lay into the breakfast programme - Kay being in America not Westminster almost seems to be treated as a ‘gotcha’ moment, plenty of tongue-in-cheek ‘Lions Den’ posts and there’d criticism of seemingly everything from the set background to even a politician putting their coffee flask on the floor. There are plenty of very valid criticisms all in all (e.g. the ‘Lions Den’ line in the advert was naff as hell) but it’s the sheer volume of them almost makes it feel like some have taken a personal dislike to the show.

That said I don’t want to be an arsehole telling people what to post (as much as this post is probably evidence to the contrary).
I would say while I don’t think the Kay Burley presentation is particularly outstanding, I have little issue with it. The backdrop is similar to Politics Live (and I barely see any criticism of the presentation of that) and functional enough and previous @Breakfast/Sunrise iterations were in my mind worse and little to write home about - Kay sat in front of some blinds was hardly presentation dynamite, Sunrise in Studio 6 never really worked and felt very sterile for a breakfast show and there was that period in the Glass Box where they had that odd blue pattern as the show logo.

Baffled that the appearance of a logo used from 2002-2005 in front of Burley has not been mentioned so far?

Yes they could've given her a slightly smarter looking lectern!

It strikes me that they probably just got hold of the lecture to hold notes on (hence the industrial clamp to the right) and the logo was probably ripped off a pelicase to cover someone elses.
