Looks like BBC Scotland's atrium will be featuring during the referendum night coverage (as to be expected, I suppose). Wondering whether this area will be just for graphics or the show will be based there, as 'the top of the stairs' has been used for debates etc in the past.

Would'be liked it to have been used like ITN's in the past, but the BBC are years behind ITN election-wise.
Glenn Campbell, Brian Taylor and Jackie Bird provide extensive coverage on a historic night as Scotland votes on the independence referendum. They provide analysis and interview a range of experts and contributors from both sides of the argument.
Laura Bicker is at the national count centre in Edinburgh breaking the latest news and providing reaction from campaigners who are waiting to hear which way the votes are going.
From Lerwick to Dumfries and across the country, BBC Scotland news teams bring the results and the referendum night stories as they happen. There are also reports from Westminster, Cardiff, Belfast and other locations around the world.
So Alex Salmond being as big a knob as ever because the BBC dared to report the truth that one of their biggest companies would move South should Scotland go independent.
Suspect it will shift back and too a bit more over the next week - was actually thankful tonight they're milking the Pistorius verdict out as long as possible. I just can't believe for something so important people are being asked to vote on hypotheticals rather than the realities.

They're being asked to vote on hypotheticals, because nothing will be decided, until the vote has been counted. The whole process of independence, will take 2-3 years anyway, and things will probably change in the meantime, especially as there is a general election next year, and a Scottish parliamentary election next year as well. So, why try to be too specific, because the players might well be different next year.
I've seen some other shots of BBC Scotland's atrium with a lot of red and green lighting; red and green also featuring quite heavily in the titles of last night's Big, Big Debate. Suspect we may be seeing a bit more of that.

Yeah, I miss the days when referendum/election campaign promises weren't hypothetical and were based 100% in reality. Those were the days.
I think people were expecting more of the issues to actually have been solved by the time the referendum happened, rather than the white paper simply being a list of "we will" points that the UK Gov keep denying. At a minimum, I expected the currency issue to have been sorted, but no, they've stuck to their we will use the pound, despite giving no idea on how they expect that to work given the constraints.
Maybe in the event of a yes win, there needs to be another referendum in 18 months / 2 years, after the Scot gov has had a chance to actually formalise all these arrangements, so people can actually vote on what's happening rather than a rosy-tinted view of what might happen.

If they were, then they were expecting far too much. After all, why sort lots of things out ready for independence, prior to the vote, just in case of a 'yes' victory? If the public votes no to independence, there'll be criticism that all that money and time was wasted on something that didn't happen.
