I don't really get the point in them covering this and Notting Hill live, surely anyone who wants to see it will actually be there. They're free events and anyone in the LL area wouldn't have any difficulty in getting down there.

Actually, due to the insane crowds at the Notting Hill Carnival, getting there is pretty difficult and getting out is even harder. Having vowed never to repeat the experience after the one time I went, I'd much rather watch it on TV.

Finding the right areas to host the output will also be an issue. Putting a presenter next to one of the loud sound systems isn't ideal.

Fair enough. I'll wave to you when I'm off my face on ket with chicken hanging out of my mouth this August.

The C4 shows seem to be propping it up looking at BARB. Ratings most week top out around 30-40,000, quickly dropping to the teens by the end of the top ten. A couple of weeks ago their highest rating show all week was a Peep Show repeat at 12,000 - though that does seem very much a blip, hit I guess by the first week of the World Cup mopping up a lot of casual viewers.

I watched London Live live for the first time today, and an episode of Bugs was on. The sound quality on it was awful - I had no idea it was a BBC programme until the endcap came up - there was a strange wah-wah effect throughout that was particularly noticeable when the dramatic music was playing; also the programme seemed quieter in general than anything else London Live were outputting.

Anyway, the programme itself was laughable, so I could (partly) forgive it.

Is that the one with the bloke from Neighbours from the days when Casualty didn't air 55 weeks a year!

If you're thinking of Craig McLachlan, then yep it's him...

A very newsy start to Not the One Show. 10 minutes debating Rolf Harris and Andy Coulson's convictions.

The sound was certainly dreadful (and wasn't like that on transmission on the BBC). Sounded like nasty phasing issues - possibly due to a stereo to mono conversion with some kind of fault on the stereo replay, or possibly all 4 tracks were ingested rather than just the main stereo audio (most programmes sold commercially will have an M&E track or a duplicate stereo mix on tracks 3 and 4 with the main mix on tracks 1 and2)

Headline London has been a 7/7 anniversary special today. LL have excelled themselves today with this edition.

I seem to remember that LL's head of news Vikki Cook said that they wouldn't use a sofa.

Cue today, 14-1, LL's sports show is using a sofa for their three guests which works perfectly.

I'm sure she was referring to news output which they might be counting 14-1 as, but it's a semi-serious sport magazine show and not news.
