London Live presented their coverage from Pride this afternoon using the London Go titles and format.

Using three journalists, Alex Beard was backstage at the Pride stage and anchoring, Luke Blackall with the crowd at Trafalgar Square and Maleena Pone in Dean Street. In addition, there were studio segments with Gavin Ramajan with two guests.

No live performances, instead interviewing and voxing with packages used in the week from Headline London showcasing LGBT activities.

It's got a smashing EPG position and tried and tested programmes from BBC and Channel 4 on the cheap. How could it ever have failed?

Surely people want something different from old BBC/C4 programming? Sadly by the sounds of it the other programming that's been served up isn't what is required.

I didn't see it, but you can't just take a feed of a stage performance and broadcast it. Aside from music rights, you've performance rights and all sorts of contractual stuff to sort out and make it more hassle than it's worth.

You can see it here: http://www.londonlive.co.uk/programmes/live-from-pride/36fc225a

A nice re-make of the titles, but they dropped the font on the postcodes

Considering London Live's budget, they simply don't have the resources to provide it in the first place. I suspect this is how the Notting Hill Carnival will be covered in August, using a two hour window each day using the London Go team to interview participants, celebs and attendees.

It seemed as if it was being mixed for the crowd facing screens, so the mix was there - and it seemed they cut to it at one point when there was just anything but artists.

Given the budget it probably had, and the fact they had 3 'OBs' going on at once, and studio - it's actually quite impressive.

I don't really get the point in them covering this and Notting Hill live, surely anyone who wants to see it will actually be there. They're free events and anyone in the LL area wouldn't have any difficulty in getting down there.

Enjoyed Wake Up London this morning.

The only jarring thing was the shatliffed newspaper logos during the paper/news review.

The only decent part of the news and current affairs output, the Sunday Platform 8 strand is taking a 'break'

In it's place is a repeat of Not the One Show and F2 Kicks Off.

I think if Wake Up London had been as newsy/pacy as it is now in week 1, it would have made a much better first impression.

They really let themselves down with that dogs v cats nonsense - it will be hard to shake that image off.

Actually, due to the insane crowds at the Notting Hill Carnival, getting there is pretty difficult and getting out is even harder. Having vowed never to repeat the experience after the one time I went, I'd much rather watch it on TV.
