The new set is already in place, I gather.

Thank you, we will wait and see then.
I am sure we will see a fond farewell to Quay Street as well.
Does anybody know if this is when they start filming on the new Coronation Street set as well?

It had to be dismantled late last year, I think, because of some defects in the steel, which has undoubtedly caused delays.
Countdown and Jeremy Kyle have been filming at The Studios this week. Production has already moved, so I can't imagine much more than Coronation Street will remain at Quay Street after news moves.
Coronation Street new set is still being built. Up to a year away I think?

Only ITV's new office structure had to be taken down and rebuilt - the Corrie backlot itself was unaffected, but yes I do believe the move has been delayed by a few months.

Just happened to hear the Granada Reports trailer on Real Radio. I'm not a regular listener to Real Radio, so haven't heard the trail since the ITV rebrand.
Bizarrely - it used the old (pre Jan) music and Tony Morris ended up saying "That's Granada Reports at 6 o'clock on ITV1"
I thought it might be an old trail, but one of the stories was about police spending on calls to Directory Enquiries and the Speaking Clock which is also one of the website headlines.
Not sure how this mistake occurred - possibly the Tony Morris ITV1 outro is prerecorded, but I'd have thought they'd have updated it by now.

Granada Reports has just featured an interview with Petula Clark at MediaCity, recorded in front of the windows of what I would presume is their new home overlooking the Lowry. It looked like standard office space but a side camera shot used revealed some sort of green screen a short distance behind Caroline Whitmore - will be interesting to see how and where the set is constructed, and whether the windows (or any sort of view of the Quays) will be utilised. Worth a look on +1 for those who are interested.

Here's the clip, from what I can see it looks like Granada will be getting a London/National type set.

Further to the above clip:
I'm actually quite excited about this launch. It'll be good to see the back of their current set which has existed forever, and we'll get it in HD too on ITV1 HD.

I'm sitting in the new @GranadaReports studio at @mediacityuk about to start test bulletins. It looks fantastic... but I can't show you yet!

Just out of curiosity, does the Isle of Man ever feature in Granada bulletins. Islanders, as you may recall, "voted" to switch from Border to Granada a few years ago, and OFCOM obliged. Events on the Isle of Man were featured regularly on Border....did islanders vote for TV coverage oblivion?
