I’m sure many people will who do celebrate it will still celebrate it, just in a different way. To some people it’s usually a few days off work and an excuse but chocolate eggs to others it’s the most important event in their religious calendar.
I fear I have to agree with you. As horrible as this sounds I can’t imagine anyone celebrating Easter this year.

Maybe so. The bible speaks of Easter Day as a day of rebirth. I cannot see that being front and centre.
I’m not a religious man. To me in
The past Easter meant chocolate, football and James Bond movies.
But at the same time I’m not ignorant of religious beliefs. It’s just that I can’t imagine the same kind of celebrations taking place.

I think religious people will probably celebrate it because, to them, God gives them strength.
For families, I'm not going to withdraw the annual Easter Egg hunt from my 7 and 4 year old because they enjoy it so much. I don't know if any other parents on the forum are experiencing this but my beautiful kids are starting to get a little cabin fever. Now is not the time, imo, to take away anything which gives them pleasure.
(I'm atheist btw, if you're wondering).

I agree with you about not wanting to spoil the kids fun. I have three cousins and they will be enjoying the fun.
I also understand about cabin fever. I’m the only one in my immediate family who is caring for my parents.
They’re getting fed up with the restrictions but on the rare occasions I go out (once a week in case anyone is wondering) I think that stopping in is best.

According to sky news she made a speech in 2002 after her mother died.

Exactly. Been some arguments about if Easter Eggs are essential but that one bit of normality and a brief treat is probably more important than ever.
Is this the first non-Christmas address by the Quern since Diana died?

So apart from 1990, 1997, 2002, and 2012, the Queen has never made a TV address outside of Christmas Day 😎
And during the Gulf War apparently
