I'm happy CNN has been simulcasting CNNi during overnights on the East Coast recently. It helps because BBC WN gets a bit repetitive. It shows the vast difference between the two. Too be fair, I don't mind a few programs on CNN/US such as 'The Lead' but most of it is so unbearable due to content and presentation style ('The Lead' is likeable for content, not so much for Jake Tapper's and the rest's 'casual' style). Unfortunately in Canada we get CNN/US not CNNi. Guess that's how close our countries are.
I've been enjoying it as well. On the West Coast, the simulcast is 9pm-1am Pacific, so it's not really even overnight here. I don't think CNNI has ever been simulcast for a period as long as 4 hours at night on Domestic, nor has a simulcast stuck quite this long in a while. They'll probably scale the simulcast back or cut it altogether in favor of reruns when the Israel story flares down again, but I still appreciate it while I can.
I used to be a huge CNNI fan, and I used to watch Domestic as well as a substitute when I couldn't watch CNNI, as I didn't find Domestic to be as distasteful as it is now that Jeff Zucker is there. I really can't stand almost anything that they air, and when Comcast picked up BBC World and AJAM, I stopped watching CNN almost altogether. I still won't watch Domestic, but I've been fairly impressed with CNNI's coverage of the Gaza story and the Ebola outbreak. CNNI isn't as good as it used to be or its competitors, but it's not as bad of a channel as its graphics make you believe.
i like them but they are HUGE!!!
Also they are still using some elements from the previous on screen graphics. If they are speaking to someone on the phone the previous version still pops-up as well as the addtional information about a guest. Now they just have to clean up the in show graphics. But i doubt that will happen. I just hope they will fix NewsRoom graphics. As the flagship "news" program, it should be a bit less Fox News.
I still hate the Zucker "LIVE" mandate. its confusing watching the programs as the LIVE bug stays up even during taped video. I really dont understand the rationale behind this.
But do think this could totally work the CNNi. Its clean not too flashy, though i do think its quite large. Having said that CNN will probably start tweaking and and playing with it. Hopefully the glossy shine wont reappear anytime soon. I would imagine CNNI will get it soon. They are probably working on a way to marry the CNNi logo into the package.

Similar to how here in Ireland, the cable/satellite companies offer BBC News rather then BBC World News.
UPC, the largest (by some distance) cable/MMDS company, offer both. I am not sure if they are the only platform anywhere that does so, though World News was there first, with BBC News 24 being added when BBC Three and BBC Four were.

International could drop the globe and just have INTERNATIONAL written under the logo, instead of the clock.
That was the way it was originally, until about 1996.
