thanks for posting - that was very interesting. Studio-A looks rather run down doesn't it?! Not holding out much hope for the new NWT studio. Looks like standard office acommodation to me. This can make reasonable studio space if production get in early enough to put in sensible aircon, lighting and power distribuition, lighting track and/or scaffold grid etc (like The One Show managed to do at White City). However if it's fitted out as office then converted into a production space there can be significant hurdles to overcome. There's also that sodding great window looking out onto the water - which will be a real pain in the long term I reckon. Ok, This Morning looked onto Albert Dock for years, but there weren't on air early morning or late night were they? Balancing the light and the colour temperature for all times of the day or night could be a real headache for the Lighting Director I think...

I'm not a big fan of real windows in studios!

I wonder if ol' Gordon will have a shot at presenting here? Hope so.

Looks smaller than the Midlands Today studio space too, which is a shame, another region being 'blessed' with no room what so ever.

Looks like there's no room for a desk and a soft area too. Another region abandoning desks, just as I thought they were coming back with all the new sets appearing.

From what I see from that report, I take it that the "studio" is downstairs at ground level with some offices above? Surely it'd be better for the programme to come from upstairs, with that nice view looking out across the water rather than right on top of it?

They opted too early from the headlines at the start of the one, Gordon was forced to do a quick improv after reading the two NW headlines when they realised they still had ten seconds left.
