Hahaha. Oh my dearie, dearie me! We're getting a bit carried away with ourselves it seems. I agree with House. We probably need to turn down the specul-ometer a tad!

Ah well. Never mind.
This thread is somewhat scary, particularly when people can tell you who presented News 24 on 4th August, 2003 between 11 and 2...
Yalda did the one minute summary at the top of WHYS, which means she will be Newsreading at the 4, 5 and 6pm hours London time as well. Editions of BBC World News.
Then makes way for Sophie Ikenye at 6:30 and Zeinab Badawi at 7.

All times London.
She's all over the place at the moment. Quite a few errors in reading the scripts and pauses - but I'm sure that's all first day nerves. She seems to have quite a distinctive style of introducing pieces as well.
Definitely some awkward first day jitters from Yalda Hakim...
I don't know if she is not used to having commercials or something, but some awkward moments before telling the News in Briefs...
Yes, that was funny, after the headlines she thought they were on a break and looked smiling in the distance before realizing she's on air.
I like how she handled all the cock ups with smile and relaxed, made me not really care about them. She's a great addition.
She will be perfect by tomorrow. I'm sure. I wouldn't be surprised if she's on the weekend Martine Dennis shift, since Martine has been on every day this last week. Easing into the new role.
I remember thinking that Pooneh was an awful anchor the first time I watched her. 24 hours later, she was the best in the business. And she is!
There are some tricky things for BBC World presenters that other network presenters like Sky,CNN and AJ don't have to deal with. I'm talking about the fact that at 15 minutes past the hour some regions have a commercial break while others do not so the presenter has to do news in brief for them. It lasts a minute or so before the opening sting plays out and we get the headlines again.
Then there's the always problematic ending and the reminder of the top story (in fact 3 top stories for 18 & 19.00 cet bulletins) before the music plays out. Even the most experienced presenters occasionally fail to do it all in time. Yalda had a nice ending for her first bulletin.
