Poor old Chris Eakin seems to fall victim to camera bloopers quite a bit...

Is that some kind of back handed complement. Isn't the phrase "still going strong"? Very Happy

It does feel like both the BBC and Sky just go through the motions now when it comes to 24 hour news, though I guess it's natural that over time the format would stop evolving as much as it had been.

I know what you mean, Brekkie. 10-15 years ago, the rolling news channels had energy and ingenuity. But it does now feel like they're all a bit formulaic and stuck in a rut. I guess social media has to some extent shifted people's attention away from 24 hour television news and is where much of the excitement and energy is to be found this decade.

News at Six titles ran without a studio sweep, with Sophie walking along the catwalk, walking along the catwalk should be used more often in my opinion.

If you enjoy it that much, you should probably just watch Fashion TV.

I don't think it was intentional as when they start the main headline from the wall the presenter usually walks during the studio sweep anyway - and even if it was intentional, it didn't look very good.

What do we reckon they'll do for Christmas this year then in the regular studio? Two trees either side behind the newsroom window?

I'm hoping for robo-tree, spinning merrily along with the cameras at the end of the title sequence. It would also mean that a Christmas Tree would go across Chris Eakin's shot, instead of a camera, on a semi-regular basis.

Hopefully Breakfast makes a bigger effort. Some fake snow on the titles, a tree that's out of shot most of the time, and some bells overlaid on the music badly. Not nice at all!! Thumbs down

Presumably there's going to have to be some virtual effort for the 5, 9 and London news.
