This is a capture at 2130, the 2100 TOTH had the same issue.
I noticed an issue with the box at the beginning of the 0100 GMT edition of Newsday as well - although it still said BBC NEWS, it was severely cropped.
BBC World News seem to have had the same problem too since the move to NBH, the box had been cropped and seemed to show 'BBC World' a turning back the clocks
I'm assuming this is another problem with viz, it's much worse on world though as you sometimes get it where it's been intersected so the box is in about 5 different strips. I'm most bemused to why it actually does it as it can't be because it thinks there is an aston there as the amount of cropping varies significantly. It seems to be mainly from Studio B however - maybe Studio A and B get a cropped logo and C and E self-controlling cameras. The joys of automation, not even N8 had cockups this frequently and some of its equipment was never really replaced.

Its not just studio A & B the logo problem has occurred in both E and C before as well (although usually not as bad as the image above)
Also i don't know if its been noted before but since the launch of BBC News HD more BBC News programming has been appearing on iPlayer. Including Asia Business Report and The Papers.

I don't know a lot about this but is the cut off of the logo a mistake because on certain feeds the Astons, tickers don't go out on certain services/channels? Therefore the lower thirds are always clean but of course it should not have happened on the news channel.
It's interesting to look at Newswatch using Studio A on iPlayer, since you can now watch it in HD. The quality of the CSO isn't up to scratch for HD at all - just look at the close-ups around the hair, and fuzzing with the glasses of water.
The overall look of the virtual reality just seems a bit cheap and nasty with the advent of the News Channel in HD.

What is that ticker cover up all about?! Can they not either, record a copy with no DOG, clock or ticker or just overlay a clean ticker before uploading to iPlayer?
There are several versions of the news channel available out of the studio with various combinations of graphics... or none. There is one with a generic, non moving ticker.
Although if that's on the iPlayer it's probably got to do with which version is available at wherever it's encoded... Red Bee? If they only have the offair version then they've got to cover it or use it as is
