This is slightly tangential, but I noticed what seemed to be an updated version of the BBC News Sting at the end of this video:

This simplified red globe appears to be consistent with the promo discussed above. Could we be seeing updated titles soon?

I wouldn't say that it's a sign of new titles IMO - I believe they use that graphic on the screens in the News Channel's studio by default, and that they have done since they moved there.
As an aside, the text on that promo has some awful kerning to it, and the grey background isn't particularly nice, and the shot of the globe from the inside looks a bit murky and doesn't fit in with how the globe is usually crisp and shot from the outside.

Apologizes, I thought they were still using this version:

Ah the benefits of differently zoned feeds. I've never seen some of this continuity.
How are those idents / slides generated ? Does someone take a template and edit it using NLE software or is it generated by Viz using a template?
That version is still used on BBC World News with recorded continuity.

That certainly topped all of the banal BBC News robo-camera mishaps I've seen up to now. A few creaks, and a sudden drop of the camera with the prompter glass dropping off too.
EDIT: Ian Mackie on Twitter has whipped out his phone
It's 22:33 on iPlayer Rewind, so it should still be available until half past midnight.
Camera just fell off the track with a chute crash during The Papers!

Indeed, though I'm guessing this could've caused some more significant issues if it happened early on during the Ten.
