World should have dropped the Newsday format and got Daniela Ritorto to achor from NBH. The live two ways with John Donalson and Rico Hizon, plus satellite delay included didn't work too well. I would assume Mike Embley or Adnan Nawaz will take over at 1:30. I wonder if Daniela will stay on to double head?

Weird TOTH at 9am UK/8pm Australian time. Globe animation, then a recorded vision of the Sydney siege with Seven Network graphics during the bit of the music usually accompanied by the newsroom pan, before a live shot of the Australian correspondent.
Perhaps its to show that its big news and there are developments coming out and they wanted just to give an update on the current situation on this extraordinary story.

They appear to have changed the TOTH on the news channel today. I'm not sure if it's because of today's story or a permanent change.
Presenter 1 starts the TOTH from the catwalk and reads a section of the main headline before the usual "This is BBC News, I'm x, the headlines at x', reads a bit more of the main headline over pictures, then the second presenter introduces themselves and reads the other headlines before the titles.
