Yeah, I see what you mean. For the national designs, the gradient is horizontal, and the English regions are vertical, so now you can tell the difference. It might be a mistake on my part, but I'll work around it.

Right, I'm gonna briefly cut away from discussing News designs, because I've just tinkered with the BBC's digital services a bit. BBC iPlayer and BBC Sounds have been given another round of facelifts, now back in vertical form. I've also done some icons for them both, to be used particularly for smaller displays.

Maybe try the icons in horizontal form?

I feel like the main Beeb logo is a bit squashed by the symbols...

I'll be honest, this is really good, so the only critiques I can make are possibly nitpicking. I'm not going to restate what others have said, as you have heard about the blocks already.

The Five Live one doesn't work too well, but the 6 Music redesign is probably the weakest one. . If you zoom out, you can barely discern the 'music' on the logo. I'd say look into making it more readable. I'd also suggest adding the BBC Scotland logo back. Absolutely adore the endboards, they look awesome, and I like the new Cbeebies logo, in particular, that is awesome. The iPlayer redesign is strong, as is using Reith as the main font.

Okay, here are some onscreen News graphics. I've tried to make this a "second step" to the current BBC News branding in 2019, so as such, there are some slight changes, as seen here with some nicely modified BBC News Channel graphics.

I think you'd probably be better off either sticking to the current graphics package or moving to a completely new design - IMHO the current package looks better than the one there, but that may be just because of the slightly dodgy alignment of the text

I think those images of the News channel above show how unsuitable the logo you have designed is. The stacked box isn't going to work, especially when the BBC part is so big and the text underneath it is so small.

Yeah, which is why I'm seriously considering blending the boxed and horizontal designs together as I speak (with logo and channel name sizes partially equal). I've done something familiar to the BBC entertainment networks, and I'm quite happy with them. I'll show you what I'm talking about later on, and it just goes to show about the measures to perfect this mock actually are. Hopefully, this third style concept below is better.
