But then again, in Ireland, ITV have one channel, in the UK ITV have 6. If for rights reasons you can't show something from ITV(1) show something from one of the other 5 channels.
Surely they only have five UK channels (ITV(1), ITV2, ITV3, ITV4 and CITV), unless I'm suffering from early onset dementia or something?
That aside, good suggestion.
When ITV(1) shows live sport that can only legally be broadcast in the UK, what does UTV Ireland show? Putting a film on would seem sensible, rather than having to find several 30-minute programmes (or whatever) to match the sport coverage's total duration.

Oh yeah.
And I've just remembered ITV Encore too, so it's actually seven!
Proving that those channels simply don't register on my radar.

Don't forget there is the international channel ITV Choice (admittedly not available in the UK) and their web channel Signed Stories.
So that's...
ITV (plus the +1 and HD variants)
ITV2 (plus +1/HD)
ITV3 (plus +1/HD)
ITV4 (plus +1/HD)
ITVBe (plus +1/HD)
ITV Encore (plus +1/HD

Your post is the first time I've ever even heard of that at all (irrespective of it being an ITV thing or not). Clearly, it's a well publicised service...

Repeats of ITV programmes, or in some cases ITV Studios stuff that is on other channels in the UK (the Graham Norton Show is probably the biggest example of this). They are very bad on the film rights stakes, in that they air very few films, almost always on holidays and they tend to be old. Their preference is to repeat ITV stuff instead.
Tonight's a good example of where they are running quite a bit of variations:
UTV
18:30 You've Been Framed
19:00 Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway
20:30 Take Me Out
22:00 Jonathan Ross
23:00 ITN
23:20 Film: Never Say Never Again
UTV Ireland
18:00 Beowulf: Return to the Shadowlands (repeat - originally aired live network)
19:00 Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway (Live Network)
20:30 Countrywise (ITV archive)
21:00 The Cube Olympic Gold Medalists Special (ITV archive)
22:00 Jonathan Ross (Live Network)
23:00 The Brits (Repeat - originally aired live network)

Well, that's because it's not a channel, but rather a series of programmes about ASL (American Sign Language, apparently the world standard. No one told me this, and I live there!) for kids.

What an odd choice of archive in Countrywise that in my eyes would disrupt the Saturday night feel of programmes. Can they not air you've been framed due to original ownership of the clips, etc.?

I don't think it's a licensed format although it is identical to many others across the world. They do buy a lot of their clips in from other countries' shows so it might be that they only have those licensed for the UK.
It's an ITV Studios programme, so that's an interesting question. It may be because it appears to be actually a licensed format and ITV may only have a licence for the UK.
