Amazing, Rob gets clarification before posting and yet there's always one who disputes it regardless, then people wonder why some people in the industry think we're numpties on here.

What facilities were they using at Millbank? I guess the studio used for political programmes, but is this separate to the one ITN have there?

Possibly the CSO used for national weather bulletins?

I thought the weather was produced by the Met Office for ITV, possibly from separate facilities?

Don't think so. I think they provide the information (and possibly the graphics) but not sure that the Met Office provide production facilities for it. Think ITV do.

A quote from a interview with forecaster Lucy Verasamy who is based at Millbank for Stylist.

Quote:
Our office is based in the ITV’s Met Office hub and we feed the bulletins live to the ITN studios in Farringdon.

Images of the first bulletin from the temporary studio (unless anyone wants to dispute that...)

Nah, that's not Meridian's newsroom Wink
Seems Meridian has a few 'old hands' with pride in their jobs left.. A decent effort for something temporary!

The best temporary studio yet.

It appears the aforementioned Simon Hardwick, Broadcast Engineer at Meridian, is the person who deserves considerable credit for the temporary set, which apparently was cobbled together from spare bits of set.

From those stills it certainly doesn't look temporary, and I imagine having the set there will block some of the noise from the newsroom behind.

Can I be the first to predict "they should have stayed in the newsroom" posts when they do move into the new permanent set?

Is it me or do the caps look like they're downscaled HD, rather than upscaled?
