So Business Live just aired and what did you guys think? I thought it was good and it was the first that they spoke to an editor in the business newsroom using a Bloomberg terminal. I'm curious was the show straight through for domestic audiences or was there a break while World went to commercial?

Also I'm surprised the show was trending on twitter in the UK because it seems like to me (and Ben and Aaron) that I've been the only person tweeting in.

Edit: I got my answer.

Don't know if these other changes that begin tomorrow have been noted:
- HARDtalk will be shown weekdays at 8.30pm.
- The BBC World News overnight simulcast begins an hour earlier, at midnight instead of 1.00am.

I'd assume it will now be same presenter from 6.30pm to midnight - with all the other stuff shown during that time it would only add up to 2 hours 45 mins of presenting.

Feels like the channel really is very part time now. The BBC1/BBC2/BBC World simulcasts will make up over half the schedule (13 hours 15 mins).

Welcome to the realities of a BBC running on a reduced income. Those 20+% budget cuts can't all be delivered by 'efficiencies'.

Is the 9.00am - 9.15am presenter only on shift for these 15 minutes now? Surely it would make more sense to continue taking World until VD?

AFAIK the 8.30 shift now extends to 2pm. Presumably they still want a presenter to stand by in the moring in case of breaking news, so they might as well fill the 15-minute gap with domestic news.

Closing titles of Business Live had BBC World News logo. Doesn't this normally get changed for the UK output?

All those countries they reach out and only a handful of tweets. Laughing
I guess not many people feel the need to get too excited over business.

BBC News channel seemed to show the wrong feed of Business Live today, it showed a World News feed rather than a clean feed. The program opened and closed with BBC World boxes and the start of the show had the World ticker, all graphics were removed at around 5 minutes into the show and the BBC News ticker finally arrived around 15 minutes into the show.

Surely the problem you're trying to report is that they showed the World graphics rather than the UK graphics?

Please stop embellishing your posts with details you've made up - that post would have been fine without the mention of them supposed to be showing a clean feed - that's nonsense.

Either that or Ben is just too tall for that studio.

The opt out point for BBC World News viewers during Business Live was a bit cleaner than it usually is when there's a simulcast, wasn't it? I seem to remember that for the overnights the UK is treated to two stings that bookend the ads, with the opt-in sting looking quite peculiar as the presenter finishes speaking before a few seconds of wide shot and then a 'welcome back'! Meanwhile, Business Live didn't use a bed up-to the opt, and instead left what seemed like a relatively natural and brief pause before going to UK news for a few minutes, which even included a live cross to the newsroom! However, the opt in was still quite obvious.

Here it goes with Outside Source now!

They need to sort out the Media Cafe windows, blinds or something need to be put in place. When the guest is on shot you can see people waving in the background from the cafe behind the trundle cam.
