Good Morning Britain Re-boot

After watching some of ITV's Good Morning Britain, I feel like there could be some changes made to the studio. This is my model. I have used measurements for the current studio, and made sure it all fits in well.

Changes with the schedule would coincide with the re-launch of the studio.

Hmm...I don't know.

In the first image, I don't think having the name of the show on the floor is a good idea, at least not with the shape of the platform you've used. Just writing 'GMB' would confuse people, it's called Good Morning Britain and most people that aren't breakfast TV gurus would probably call it 'Good Morning Britain' opposed to 'GMB' (or Daybreak in some cases ). I also think you've used the London skyline image way too much.

I've made the changes, as above. Hope you like them. What do you (and others) think for the desk and shapes in the mock. I also hope that this isn't to empty, attempted to make a really busy but calm set. Can people realistically envisage this?? Please let me know how I can improve it!!

Looks good! As, from 6:00 - 9:25, ITV Breakfast is technically a separate channel, it means that programmes cannot regularly overlap the 9:25 handover which means your plan for Lorraine wouldn't work, plus Lorraine inputting into your proposed 8.30-9 half hour will bring GMB and Lorraine too close together.

Edit: The shape of the sofa really needs to change too. The logo shape under the breakfast bar thing needs to be raised up a bit.

Do you mean it needs to be a riser, like the news desk and the one the sofa sits on, or that the position of it needs changing?? Thanks for the comments, need to re-think the schedule!

Yeah, either a riser or no logo shape at all, and no bother! Looking forward to seeing the next revision.

The idea has clearly had a lot of thought and I applaud that.

The designs are actually not that bad but I'm not sure the constant changing of positions at different hours would bring the continuity desired by ITV.

Lastly I think, despite low ratings, the programme just needs to settle in. I think a relaunch like this is too drastic and way too soon. The show I imagine in the next few months will gradully escalate in viewers and become a real contender to BBC Breakfast. If say in a year the problem of low ratings remains this may well be the sort of thing introduced. However, for the time being I'd say let the show grow like it is.

I think that the set area should be chosen on a feature by feature basis. For example the news should be at the main desk, front pages at the breakfast bar, human interest on a sofa, roundtable at the brekkie bar, political at a one on one set etc.

Can you upload it as a SKetchup 8 file? I find Sketchup Make highly unresponsive so I have not updated.

I understand what your idea is but the current one in place now does that. There is no need for an additional desk for interviews that is done at the sofa regardless of its category.

I think it's a nice design - not sure it's what Good Morning Britain needs, but as others have said you can see effort and thought has gone into it and overall it looks very smart, particularly for an unrendered Sketchup design. 4/5 from me.
