BBC3 or no BBC3 surely if the UK hosted it both the semi finals would be on BBC1 as well.

According to the RTE Voting website, it's still Digame on behalf of the EBU...

Quote:
All tele-voting for the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 is managed by Digame, on behalf of the European Broadcast Union (EBU).

I think they would considering how much they'd be spending on it and it slots in quite nicely between Eastenders and the news.

I'm currently watching the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 Second Semi-Final. Here are my preferences based solely on all of tonight's performances:
Definitely want to qualify: Israel, Norway, Austria, Ireland, Slovenia, Romania
Wouldn't mind qualifying: Malta, Finland, Belarus, F.Y.R. Macedonia, Switzerland
Prefer not to qualify: Georgia, Greece
Definitely don't want to qualify: Poland, Lithuania

So these are the ones I want to see Saturday night: Israel, Norway, Austria, Ireland, Slovenia, Romania; plus any four (and no more) of Malta, Finland, Belarus, F.Y.R. Macedonia, Switzerland.

The UK voted this evening; I voted for Israel and Austria.

My comments about tonight's songs are on my blog:

Very surprised that Ireland haven't got through. How on earth Poland and Lithuania got through though I have no idea...

Well, no surprises there for me - I guessed that Israel and Georgia would definitely not qualify, and my favourites (Norway, Austria, and Greece) all got through. Maybe I should write a yearly blog about Eurovision.

Ireland have come up with a good solution to the 'problem' of SMS voting. They just say not to expect a reply if you are voting by text. People would have no idea if their vote was counted or not so everyone is happy.

Lithuania didn't.

Not surprised Ireland didn't get through - thought it was a very poor vocal performance
