The opening and titles of the 11 o'clock hour was done with one static shot on Tim Willcox, with the full titles played without a newsroom and studio pan and staying on the static shot of Tim once again.

Cameras playing up I suppose?

Possibly a fault with trundle cam throwing everything else out. again.

Interesting report by Nick Higham celebrating the 60th anniversary of the first BBC weather forecast, also giving us a behind the scenes look at the weather centre at BH. I 'll see if I can upload a clip.

According to Nick Higham viewers in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland don't see the forecast after the 10 o'clock news. Is that true for Wales and NI as we certainly receive it in Scotland?

Almost certain that NI don't show it. We used to receive it in Wales up until pretty recently - don't catch the late news often now, but I've noticed a few times that they haven't shown it - perhaps someone else can clarify if it's a regular thing. Possibly changed around the time they finally switched to using their main studio for the 10:25 bulletin - it was CSO until a few months ago (end of the summer perhaps?) and we always used to have the national forecast then.

The special programme on BBC One on the severe weather that aired at 7:30 tonight was an interesting one. It came from Studio B, where they'd, for some reason, introduced some coloured lights onto the floor for no real reason, and used the music last seen on the Review of 2013 programmes that had been airing on the NC. As nice as it is that the special didn't use the normal music heard at the TOTH, I do hope that it doesn't mean every special from now on will use that particular music - I can see the reasoning in having the same music for BBC News specials, but this particular music is quite upbeat...

It's available on iPlayer.

I've noticed a few times that on a Saturday when the evening news has aired at 10 precisely it's used generic titles, rather than the Ten titles which are used on the other 6 days at 10. Is there a reason for this?

I think but maybe incorrect ...
... The Saturday bulletin generally moves round the schedule from week to week;
... The Sunday bulletin was moved to a generally fixed 10pm (though moves for particular events or longer dramas) when Panorama was moved to Sunday and I think the bulletin was being presented by Fiona at the times as such it was branded as the Ten.

We don't get the network weather in Wales, it's done live in the BBC Wales studio amd includes a brief national picture as well as the weather for Wales.

Thanks both. When Reporting Scotland made changes to the late bulletin a while back they started including a weather forecast but we still get the national one.

The other day I noticed, but is it just me or does the Business Package on the News Channel have a different bed to WBR.

Yes, I realised that too, the opening at the start too is different.

It has a slight string added on it about every 10 seconds.
