With this being Carrie’s last Thursday on the channel, I’ve realised in the countdown she is featured in a China Town which actually looks like a staged reporting to get footage for the countdown, is this meant to be related to the new China Editor post?

No, because this countdown with her reporting in this place has featured since the nBH move.

Managed to capture the previously mentioned issues in the Weather and then the early opt-out to the news channel and back again. However, the audio does appear to have been recorded using my PC's microphone, so is a bit dodgy - sorry about that:

Is that ENPS? I thought they were replacing that at NBH - although they were planning to replace paper as well.

Yes that's ENPS. There's been more than one occasion when rumours have spread at the BBC that ENPS would be replaced by a newer system, although nothing has ever come of it.

I know they were working on getting a streamlined ENPS to run on iPads which has been successful AFAIK.

How long have they used this shot? It moved from that position, quite slowly, to a 'normal' close-up shot:

ENPS is due to be replaced although the lengthy procurement process means that ENPS will be around for a long time yet (years).
Paper is likely to carry on. Surprised

I was talking about the original release material that suggested that all scripts would only be done on iPads and that presenters would be holding iPads constantly instead of paper.

I think you must have misread that, it wasn't iPads, it was pads of paper. Wink

I see right now on the BBC News Channel, Laura Bicker and her cameraman are early entrants for the 2014 Darwin Awards Rolling Eyes

Are you saying they died? How? What were they doing?

The opening and titles of the 11 o'clock hour was done with one static shot on Tim Willcox, with the full titles played without a newsroom and studio pan and staying on the static shot of Tim once again.

Cameras playing up I suppose?
