The BBC TWO Twitter page posted this endcap for the Science of Doctor Who trailer.

Certainly one of the most creative ones we have had recently.

EDIT: The Trailer has been uploaded to YouTube

Just saw that! I love it! Could we have special Doctor Who idents for BBC1 and BBC2 after all?

See above and spot the difference... Two versions - the top example is known as 'Exterminate'.

Originated from the Doctor Who Night pres in 1999, but stayed in use after that.

Can't they either use these or adapt these idents from the nineties for the 50th anniversary? Maybe use an actual Dalek and replace the old BBC Two logo with either the current BBC One/Two logo?

This is a good idea and I hope they go-ahead with it Smile

The music from the seascape ident was used during an item on this week's blue peter (around 7 minutes in). When I first heard it, I knew I recognised it from somewhere, but took a couple of minutes for me to work it out.

The music you refer to is Alt-J's 'Intro', of which an instrumental version is used on one of the Seascape idents. Instrumental versions of Alt-J's tracks 'Something Good' and 'Fitzpleasure' are used on Tent (Polar version), and Mirror, respectively.
