I'm sorry but I don't see what is so eyewitness-y in the news bulletin. Looks and sounds as if "the news at five" has been rebranded to be just "the news". But I have to say, I'm loving the new theme. Laughing

That's essentially it. They've gotten around to launching the live streaming and Apple app which were inexplicably absent at launch, but they're poorly promoted and have had no impact on the bulletin's rundown. Ratings have started to nosedive with Daylight Savings starting and newly launched afternoon bulletins on Nine and Seven eating into whatever audience is left. The Eyewitness relaunch has ended up as quite a mess, in my view.

At the other end of Ten's schedule, upcoming breakfast program Wake Up has seen its first on-air promo launch tonight, a very slick affair which introduces the hosts as well as their new studio inside a surf club on Manly Beach:

It makes you wonder just how a channel can go from massively launching a particular type of breakfast show to binning it and starting all over again from scratch in the space of a few months. That would never happen over here.

And Ten Eyewitness Late News (or is it Ten Eyewitness News Late ?) now carries the on-air graphics and theme used on the other Ten Eyewitness News bulletins (with a tweaked opening sequence for the late edition):

The music is great - still don't think the "Eyewitness" brand adds anything at all.

First look at the Wake Up studio in action, from rehearsals:

Seems a lot more cramped than I thought it'd be...

God, that seems dull for a breakfast show - not sure people want that sort of debate first thing in the morning.

I totally agree brekkie. At least these were rehearsals. The trailer made it out to be a cool, young show that was a bit different.
When they said that they would talk about everything. I thought they meant a speedy round up of a lot of things rather than a debate.

Oh Dear, it looks very stuck up it's own arse and serious from that clip. I hope it doesn't look so cramped when there is only 3 at the table.
Is that an apartment/hotel balcony over his shoulder?

Is she doing all the local news? Not that local, you can tell she's in front of a screen.

Seems like it - and strange they've been making a big deal about her bringing local news from the middle of Melbourne. Fine for those in Melbourne, but goes against the point elsewhere. I'm quite surprised though the other shows didn't already offer it considering how local centric the news is on Australian TV.

As for the main show - seen two clips now and both times I've been far more interested in the backdrop than what the presenters are talking about it. I think their beach location could end up working against them.
