Those wake up local news promos remind me of adverts that go "made specially for you". If everyone's getting the same deal, how can it ever be "specially tailored"?
It's strange that they are using the same girl for all the different territories, I'm not sure that makes the newscast very local?
Is she doing all the local news? Not that local, you can tell she's in front of a screen.
She isn't in front of a screen - I was nearby when she filmed the Perth promo. The hosts did a tour around the nation introducing themselves.. One advantage for Perth is that our news will be live, instead of being 3 hours old like Sunrise and Today..
Indeed. Not sure what kind of screens NthnRw has seen, but the promos show her clearly walking in and through many of the featured locations. Very silly comment.
Big morning tomorrow for breakfast television in Australia.
Firstly, Wake Up launches on Ten. At 6am,
Ten Eyewitness News Early
, followed by
Wake Up
at 6.30,
Studio 10
at 8.30, and
Ten Eyewitness News Morning
at 11.
Meanwhile, in a reaction to a ratings dip and Ten entering the breakfast TV war, Channel Nine's
The Today Show
will also debut a new format, graphics and set. They are also giving away prizes, such as a car full of money.
Sunrise
has also brought out some guns against Ten, with cash giveaways and concerts tomorrow. It is also
ABC News Breakfast's
5th year on air tomorrow.

He's referring to the Sydney promo. Either cars are a lot faster in NSW, or she's in front of a green screen.
Only a few thousand higher than the infamous Breakfast, and averaged across two hours instead of four. Ten's audience share is significantly lower than it was when Breakfast launched, but Breakfast did launch without warning on a Thursday to cover breaking news whereas Wake Up had the benefit of a huge advertising spend and a month-long publicity blitz. Studio 10's performance is above what previous show The Circle was rating in its controversy-plauged final days, but is well below the competition. So no positive initial ratings as originally hoped for, it's clearly going to be a long and difficult ride.
