Thank you - I hadn't realised that Ten had fallen quite so far behind!

Ten's primetime is getting figures similar to what Sunrise is getting every morning. They've fallen to fourth place in the ratings, behind ABC1.

Wake Up has been making great use of their location lately, here's a funny moment after opening the show at the water's edge this morning:

And if you ever need reminding of what a difficult industry this is, Adam Boland - the show's EP and Ten's Director of Breakfast Television - took indefinite leave from the network earlier this week due to mental health issues. He's been open about his struggle with Bipolar Disorder in the past, and the local media has been feverishly speculating about what impact of the show's negative critical reception and low ratings (just 29, 000 on Thursday) have had on him. Hopefully we'll see him fighting fit and back in the control room soon.

Any clips of these 'local' news opt outs for Wake Up?

Still don't get why they have 6.55 as the main logo - it's not RI:SE!

The show just clearly needs to find out what it is - it seems to want to be light hearted and an alternative but isn't deviating from the classic news format too much. It needs to really do what The Big Breakfast did and lead with the show, with the news being part of the show, not dictating it.

It's not going well for Ten - both Wake Up and Studio 10 have lost nearly half of their already tiny viewership within a week - down to 28,000 and 32,000 respectively.

Don't know if that's a fair characterisation. That's the lowest they've rated, but it's not a linear trend. They've been bouncing up and down a lot, and had their highest ratings on the Friday prior to the Monday figures you've quoted. When the audience is so small and there's only a handful of recording devices contributing to the calculations, the ratings can be very volatile.

Not an instant success by any measure, but it's more like they're yet to find an audience than they've lost one.

Totally agree Brekkie. The different & gorgeous setting, the bright, yet modern set design, and a team of three that seem to be gelling together well after a week shows good promise. The clip of the run, etc with the crew laughing (but not dominating) seems to be a great way to go. That clip is a vast improvement on the rehearsal debate clip that we saw. It seems like a proper alternative, something that I'd love to see over in this country.

I'm not quite sure what you're agreeing with. Very Happy

Summer will be key for Wake Up - presumably the November launch is to give it a head start on the ratings season beginning in February and allow the show to bed down over the summer and perhaps pull in viewers when Today and Sunrise are not at full strength.
