Presumably the could do something like what ITN did in 2001 or have David Dimbleby stationed in the Glass Box above Studio E with the others around the Newsroom.

That's the main way into the building, so wouldn't be a particularly practical place to anchor election coverage from.

Elstree would perhaps be more suitable?

Yes - Elstree Studio D (on the BBC Elstree site) has to be the obvious location if TC1 isn't available. Though it would be hilarious if it came from the George Lucas stage Wink

AFAIK the decision is that it would not be BH.

There are some amazing panoramic shots of both TVC and NBH studios here:

Found a picture of N8 from Tuesday. If people thought it looked dark in the final days on air...!

Not sure if this has been posted, but here's a photo I've not seen online from behind the barcos in TC7

Ah yes, that's a good illustration of just how much space there is behind the Barcos in TC7. This is why the studio seemed so small in recent years, in contrast to how huge it seemed in the 1990s. It's very easy to walk right round the back of all the Barcos and each one of those screens (and there are lots!) had a fan going all the time. It was very noisy back there and I was surprised that more of it didn't seep into the output.

For those wanting to get an idea of what TC7 looks like without BARCOS (and during their installation).....

That red painted border on the floor is the fire lane though isn't it? So even with a conventional set in place, they couldn't have put it much further back towards the studio walls.
