Jon Kay is another who used to appear occasionally as a relief presenter.

Robert Hall used to present Calendar back in the - mid 80's - didn't see him today though, but did catch him last time a couple of years ago

What other reporters have presented on the news channel?

Sarah Campbell and Jules Botfield did the occasional NC shift when they were Breakfast reporters.

The late Brain Hanrahan did a bit of NC presenting too

Fiona Armstrong is excellent on the News Channel. By far the best of the older women who were drafted in a couple of years ago on the back of the Miriam O Reilly issue.

She has the balance of warmth yet authorititive presenting that so many fail on. Which to me is ideal.

Presenters have been popping up all over the place (as expected) , I've never seen Robert Hall present on the news channel before. What other reporters have presented on the news channel?

Robert Hall has done plenty of presenting before. There are a few reporters have before as well including Sangita Myska, Luisa Baldini, Gavin Hewitt, Razia Iqbal and Jo Coburn. Out of those only Luisa has presented recently.

Also Ben Geoghan.

Yes - Ben Geoghagen was a main launch presenter on News 24, presenting the 0900-1200 strand with Jackie Hardgrave (and I think Anastasia Cooke on Fridays? unless I'm misremembering) for a couple of years. I think there was a re-arrangement of the strands when the merged Breakfast service launched in 2000 which meant Ben and Jackie's strand ceased to exist and they both moved to other roles (again I may be misremembering)

Yes. Brian regularly presented for both BBC News 24 (including anchoring the Millennium coverage) and BBC World. He was also the launch presenter, and a regular continuing presenter, for Europe Direct (which was made by News 24 but broadcast on both 24 and World) He was an excellent presenter, just as he was an excellent reporter. He's much missed.

I think it was Chris Eakin and Jane Hill, who presented the 0600-0900 slot in early 2000, who moved to other strands when Breakfast started being simulcast on News 24 in October 2000. I believe Ben and Jackie presented the 0900-1200 shift until 2001, when Joanna Gosling initially took over from Jackie, and then Philip Hayton took over from Ben, who moved into a correspondent/relief presenter role.

Yep, it's indeed Chris and Jane. There was a clip of the 6am new look N24 open in October 1999 by TV Home, it's on YT somewhere. I think when Breakfast launched, Jane moved to the 1600-1900 shift with Matthew Amroliwala when the 0600-0900 shift was axed.

I maybe wrong, but didn't Chris Eakin present alongside Valerie Sanderson for a while on News 24's Weekend Breakfast too? I do remember Sian Williams also presenting, but mainly on Sundays.

Yes, he did but only occasionally. Bill Turnbull and Valerie Sanderson were the main presenters between 1200 and 1600 and Darren Jordon and Sian Williams used to present the weekend breakfast slot. Chris Eakin mainly used to relief present both of those slots (and any others, actually).

If we're going to get really picky, then you could even include the likes of Bill Turnbull, Matthew Amroliwala, Maxine Mawhinney and Gavin Esler in the list, as all of them were reporters before 1997.

By that token, the same is true for half of the current crop of presenters - Ben Brown and Annita McVeigh both appeared as relief presenters (while correspondents) before becoming full time presenters, while Jon Sopel, Clive Myrie and Carrie Gracie were all correspondents before becoming presenters.
