Hopefully they have done something and ordered a Steadicam kt, although on YT there are various tutorials on using a tripid as a 'Steadicam'

I suspect lots of those tutorials are designed for people using very lightweight devices like DSLRs or self-shooting camcorders like the EX3 or XF305.

Such tutorials are usually for SLR cameras that would usually benefit from a flycam, but for people who can't afford it. Some more complex tutorials involve making your own with weights. Hardly the same as a steadicam though.

No offence but these camera people aren't they sent to a training school before unleashing them onto our screens?

AFAIK the BBC don't get used to tripods.

Ever since BBC WN moved to Broadcasting House a few weeks ago, I've been noticing a lot of miscues lately.
Aside from the wrong timing, I noticed that they have been playing the wrong music beds on their main BBC WN programs, specifically GMT (usually playing the generic BBC News music)...

Right now, Impact with Mishal is playing GMT beds...

Has anyone recorded the new titles and the like from World News America? They've been talked about, but I don't think any of it has been posted (my apologies if it has). Along with myself, I'm sure there are a few others who'd like to see them.

They are still getting the hang of things at NBH. It will smooth over soon

On BBC HD now... " The Genius of Invention" presented from New Broadcasting House. A good, but brief look behind the scenes.

Most of it seems to have been shot in the café overlooking the newsroom (where people waiting for The Radio Theatre can have a cuppa)

Perhaps that comment should be aimed at the directors asking for shots that are not suited for hand held because the directors want the camera op to work a distance away from the presenter and asking them to supply shots that require a degree of zoom. Very few of the directors have been trained to direct hand held camera ops and this is the core of the problem......although perhaps the camera ops should be more vocal and explain why some of the directors requests are often unrealistically deliverable.
