With Tomasz being back with us, it reminded me of the excellent Daniel Corbett who left a few years ago now. Here's a forecast on the MetService in New Zealand with Daniel. I really miss his style of presentation!

He has he usual tricks of telling us about whether we continue with our outdoor plans, whether to bring an umbrella, and the point and nod at the end of the forecast. Classic Corbett mannerisms Very Happy

Yesterday on BBC news was a little bit of a mash up the weather at 2.30 was done by Helen Willets and then at 3.00 was done by Tomaz Shnafenaker which I believe was recorded then at 3.30 it was Alex Deaken is this a regular thing?

Out of all the presenters, Rob McElwee is the one which is most missed for me, and he's one of the ones who hasn't reappeared in any capacity.

I guess Mr Schafnaker will not be let near any Simon McCoy shifts in case he starts his funny finger pointing again?

'Well, I don't know if I'm on air or not... So gallery, it's over to you' was one of my favourite moments too!

Tomasz is in NBH and Studio C on BBC World News talking about weather disruption, also talking about travel disruption, with iPad.

MO wanted to give Tomasz a back-room role last year, so Tomasz decided to leave the MO. He became a freelance presenter and wrote a book for D&K.

He then re-joined the BBC last autumn, to present BBC Southeast Weather (which he still will on occasion). The Beeb was keen to have Tomasz back on national weather as presenter, and persuaded to the Met Office to re-employ him in that capacity.

He's a popular weather presenter so I'm not surprised the BBC wanted him back on it's core services.

So the BBC can't have freelance national weather presenters?

Tomasz says that the Weather Centre will have a mixture of LCD Screens and CSO panels that can be switched from blue to green and back instantly. Supposedly he, Kirsty McCabe, Liam Dutton and Matt Taylor prefer CSO to Monitors.
