Will it be on some sort of rotator then, much like Sky News?

Also, will the news channel be broadcasting from a special studio during the Olympics, much like World News?

12pm and 5pm hours from Studio C?

They could use Studio C (with background of the newsroom) for the NC's 5 o'clock News Hour to allow the 6 to prepare in Studio E for an hour.

Apart from getting the most out of the largest studio (B), there must be a logical reason why WN will decamp from their usual home from 12-18:30 every day.

The 10 would get the same rehearsal time as now, by simulcasting with WN from 21:30, and the 1 would run as it is currently: produced by the NC team without separate off-air rehearsal?

Studio C looks very similar in set design to E (except it's a mirror version), so presumably their functions are intended to be interchangeable.

It would make better sense for the BBC1 bulletins to come out of the primary BBC World studio (C) which is not going to be used between midday and 6:30pm - which gives both the News at One and News at Six time to rehearse. As for the News at Ten; at 9:30pm BBC World airs HARDtalk which is followed at 10pm by BBC World News America.

I think that the large screen behind the desks would be better suited to the national news (assuming they used it well, that is), with the news channel always being in their main newsroom studio (E).

I think the BBC are very much viewing Studio E as the flagship. I'd imagine it will be pretty cool with the circular screen in the newsroom and the tracking shots. As such I don't see why you'd put two of the BBC One bulletins in a basement studio that's no bigger.

I agree with this. The NC should go to Studio C for the 12pm and 5pm (and also 9pm - maybe simulcast with World News for the hour?) I never liked what happens in the handover between 9-9:30 from one studio to another, the channel feels disjointed. I'd rather a full hour was from the same studio with the same two presenters. That would be "least disruptive" in my opinion.

Except the News at One is produced by the News Channel - at the very least it uses the same crew. So unless they increase the staffing budget I can't see a change in the current operation.

The News at One is produced by the NC team, without rehearsal time, as befits their normal operation. Perhaps they even just view it as a "normal hourly bulletin", albeit with a main network audience.

It's a bulletin with one of the highest audience shares, possibly because it's reacting to unfolding events during the day, which is why it's really just a 'snippet' of the NC output.

It's nice to see the special Olympic images have been inserted into the filler countdown, shown before the simulcast with network weekend bulletins. Also nice to see a 55s version of the Olympic countdown going into 7pm.

looks like there are different versions of olympics countdowns as the one ive just seen features a diver at 6s and ends with the usual satellite dishes
