Well, I am disappointed, because we're still watching two versions of the TTTV logo, why it dosen't make sense in a multi channel environment!

I wanted new Idents since the generics were introduced, actually I hated Meridians attempt before the hearts, I soon got fed up with Meridians previous batch and the first set were geting old fast. TVS had some good Idents, The first was excellent, not so sure about thesecond, Liked the thrid.

WHO'S BEEN TELLING PORKY PIES THEN???

WHO'S BEEN WINDING US ALL UP FOR THE PAST 26 PAGES???

WHO'S A FEW PENCE SHORT OF A POUND???

I thought this 'ITV1 idents only' message was a load of rubbish anyway and judging by this morning's evidence, I am quite right!!!

Answer: Craig V

Well...if Craig V has been winding us up, then he should come on here and apologize!  Still, this has got to be one of the most viewed and most replied to topics on this website...so well done Craig! Wink

I'm glad we havn't got a generic ITV1 ident, I've never been afan of the hearts but originally most of us wanted them to stay because they would at least keep the regional name on screen.

Still the ITV Hearts, but the announcement was quality - Full Lines used as well!

No. I saw some nice friendly in-vision continuity with Gillian Porter on UTV. Much better. I didn't even bother looking at TTTV until the local news last night.

Ultimately it doesn't matter what ident Leeds puts out. My problem with them is not the poxy graphic, it's their whole style of presentation. I just don't like it. I now go elsewhere, and it will take more than YTV changing one bad ident for another bad ident to bring me back again quite frankly.

As for Nick Harvey's comment about ITV becoming more regional on Feb 1st, its called sarcasm . Come on, I thought the people on here were more intelligent than that!!!

Andrew/SE are right on one thing though. Using this forum as a source of information is a dubious pastime to say the least!!

Where has all this having a go at the forum come from? You don't have to believe everything you read on every forum you know - having an objective view of things I quite a good ability, and that applies here. What about the new look to 5 News? A member took the time to mention it, and was indeed right. Even some of the relaunch of Sky News information was right, even if some others wasn't!

Funny how a few realistic-but-untrue posts suddenly makes this forum not a reliable source of information.

Cheers, Asa

Slight misquote there, Phil.  What I said was that you could tell me I was right on February 1st, NOT that any changes are due on February 1st.  And, Jason, just for once I wasn't being ALL THAT sarcastic.

The changes are already happening, witness Asa's post about the announcement yesterday where the Yorkshire CA mentioned 'Yorkshire', rather than just using a generic 'Here on your local ITV1', or whatever.

I think that as the word spreads, by, say, February 1st, you'll have heard enough of the more 'regionalised' announcements to realise what I was saying.

You would be VERY suprised at how many REAL announcers, from REAL stations have been keeping half an eye on this foum over the Christmas period, to pick up feedback to ADD to feedback from other sources.

As well as reading as 'Guests', many have registered; and without giving up any confidential information, I'm sure Asa would confirm that, as he has access to the private e-mail addresses that don't appear in posts.

Believe it or not, the industry DO take note of constructive critism, but it's often nice to look to places like this for ideas, rather than just rely on letters through the post from 'Mr Angry of Kent' who's often got his own axe to grind.

Yes, Meridian's Graham Rogers likes to say 'Now on Meridian' 'This is Meridian' '..In half an hour on Meridian' 'Now on HTV.'

Whoops, how did that last one get there!

Oh christ, don't tell me we'll have Maggie Mash attempting humour now http://web.ukonline.co.uk/tv.home/forum/emoticons/shocked.gif

Or Graham Rodgers and Bob Preedy actually primeing that bomb their bosses put under their seats to wake them up....

Graham must be visiting, he read my comment and said 'Crossroads in half an hour after night and day' he forgot now on Meridian.

It is true though announcers/relatives/tv executives do keep an eye on the site.

That was the lovely Helen Aitken who you may remember was doing the regional weather as well a while back. Definitely one of the best announcers GMG has.
