Nothing here in Channel Television country. Still the old ITV generic hearts and still no ITV 1 or ITV.com but the day is long and I know Channel Report is having a new look as may be tonight !

I watched the 9.25 of Yorkshire TV today on Sky. OK no new look but what a dreadful opening anouncement. The announcer sounded bored, it was a not very planned announcement, totally disjointed - just plain awful.
Carlton London started with Graham Bannerman saying - 'Hello, good morning, I hope you had a good weekend - welcome to Carlton'. This was said in a friendly, cheeful way.
You can knock Carlton for various issues but as for presentation and profesional sounding announcements - you can't beat them.
Don't laugh but HTV had a lucky escape presentation wise when Carlton took over <G>
If this is what Meridian and Anglia viewers have got to look forward to then er....... either select another itv region on Sky Digital or re-locate

We either get the guy who sounds like he's half asleep (the one you heard today) or alternatively the shrill-voiced Maggie who sounds like Anne Robinson who's just run out of Prozac...
I still say though that I'd rather have some regional identity (the hearts) than what has been proposed here (although I have to say it's all looking more and more implausible by the minute!). A generic itv1 ident is not the saviour of humanity when it comes to GMG, it's just another excuse for Leeds to become even lazier.

Quite luck here in London as LWT is probably the only GMG station not effected by crap announcements I have heard them on real player files especially on TV ark where they have a Tyne Tees & Yorkshire ident both with the same real live video at the beggining & the same announcement, No pride in the North

But as I said it could be the night time ident as that is played if a programme breaks down with either a Carlton London or LWT announcer usually LWT because that's when it usually happens

Trust me, now I've heard from Graeme Thompson @ TTTV (and he is no anonymous contact, he's the head of programming at the station) and he says it isn't going to happen I don't believe these rumours one iota. There will be no new look today, no new look this month and I'd say nothing until September at least. Just forget about it...
