Was that product placement for Toby Carvery just then?

I was wondering that! Most likely!

The first time its made its way into the script?

There have been odd mentions of real life brands in Coronation Street for years, certain writers are always doing it, and every time someone always suggested that it is product placement.

Is there a way to find out what products are being placed? I'd have thought that would have been part of the bill, that viewers can check what is being placed in what shows.

I thought it was a bit tongue in cheek? Hardly a glowing sell was it, I mean would you want to go there if she was in there?! Laughing

The one that sticks in my mind was a couple of weeks back when Deidre randomly announced that Ken was watching 'The Tudors on DVD'

The fact that the P was present on the break sting made me wonder.

I'm under the impression the 'P' is for the high street bank banded cash machine in the corner shop!

I don't think there was a corner shop scene in that episode?

The P features at the start and end of every episode now, even if there aren't any corner shop scenes

(There is also a Nationwide sign outside Dev's shop that would get picked up in any exterior scenes)

Yeah, they're all greedy and should be grateful with what they earn whilst we all work 9 to 5 scraping to get by on £1 a day struggling to put food on the table! /said the average Daily Mail reader.

Doesn't the relaxation of the rules mean brand names are allowed to be used a little more freely than before?
