Was the first episode I'd watched in ages. Got much better once Callum was killed off - that first 15 minutes was painful at times.

Good to see Steve and Lloyd trending tonight too, though I thought he had left on Wednesday.

It's a bit hard to match up the time on ITV Player with actual running time, but were there any outdoor scenes at around 8.23pm? I'd imagine you'd have been able to hear a bit of crowd noise from Man Utd's goal at Old Trafford if so.

I doubt the microphones can pick up stuff like that, despite what the tabloids may say, the ground isn't that close.

The street as it is is right next to a busy road, yet you never hear any traffic, heavy lorries going past, buses pulling away from the lights etc.

Having walked from Old Trafford (or at least the hotel next to it) to the Corrie studios last weekend, I'm aware of how near the two are! Smile

The Platt Family ... not so much "Skeletons in the closet", more like "There's something nasty in Gail's manhole" ... !

I didn't realise how close the Street is to Imperial War Museum North. It was very visible on the behind the scenes shots behind Nick's Bistro - replacing Beetham Tower on the old set.

I have uploaded the behind the scenes Corrie Live broadcast which was aired online with Stephen Mulhurn on the night of the live episode:

Despite efforts to preserve the former Corrie set at the Old Granada Studios, Manchester City Council have now approved plans to demolish the entire site. It's a shame Corrie's old set couldn't be saved, despite it's history, but it was ultimately inevitable.

I'd rather the studios themselves were saved but it's a shame that none of that historic location will be preserved. I was in Manchester a year or so ago and witnessed what was left, and there really was a bittersweet feeling of finally seeing the studios I'd wanted to see since I was young, but in such an inactive state.

At the end of the day though it is just a set and would just ultimately fall into a derelict state. If the tours were more viable long term I'm sure they'd be continuing.

While it's a shame the local landmark and last remaining legacy of Granada shaping the TV landscape is going at least new facilities have replaced them locally, unlike the many regional studios closed around the country.

I hope the new roads and apartment blocks are named to have some sort of nod to Corrie and/or Granada.

Inkerman Court or Crimea Tower might not sound great in a glossy brochure though!

Would you mind not referring to something built 4 years after I was born as "historic"? Wink

Always loved going to Manchester as a child and seeing the red "GRANADA TV" sign it was like our version of the Hollywood sign Smile
