The output is fed into the uplink truck. I'm sure they can then connect it to a external monitor..

In this image, taken from a uplink truck during the Soham murders, you can see a clean shot of Jeremy on the left, with Sky News DOG/graphics on the right.

Can't answer all of those for you - but don't assume that when a presenter looks down at their feet that there's really a monitor there. They might just be taking their cues from the audio, and looking down is their cue for the director that they've finished talking.

Exactly the case for all the SIS uplinks for Sky in Scotland (and north of England).

No monitor used - they just look down or away to show they're finished, and it gives the illusion that they're watching to see the package they've prepared.

The magic of television...!

Vince Gable has "declared war on Rupert Murdoch Empire". It's interesting how Sky are covering this breaking story.

Adam Boulton saying there are unconfirmed reports that Cable has resigned.

Kay's just been talking to Jeff Randall - not Sky's most impartial commentator, he's been quite pro-Murdoch in the past. I wonder if it was a wise move to get his opinion on it, rather than the less controversial Mark Kleinman?

Jeff Randall was very pro-Murdoch, it came across as a Glenn Beck type speech Rolling Eyes Ridiculous...

In fairness he did point out that he is employed by Murdoch. But clearly yes, not the most impartial commentator, although I found myself agreeing with him a bit and I don't like Randall. Cable has become a bit media obsessed and his decision to appear on Strictly was inappropriate and bizarre.

Is Chie making the link between the Telegraph and Jeff Randell? Presumably your 'employed by Murdoch' comment was referencing his work with Sky, not the Telegraph.
