I also hope that "news and current afairs", "showbiz", "sport", and "a few gags" don't all have the same level of importance...

Going by the fact that all them folders are roughly the same size I wouldn't be so sure.

Press photo's seem to be out. But none of the studio etc, just Christine & Adrian.

Exactly. They're just publicity shots intended for use by other media. Can't see any problem with them really.

And at least Adrian's got his pants on.

oh i see what you mean now. But I supppose she doesn't want to be pale white!Laughing There going to be used a lot ,like everytime she Adrian & Christine are mentioned in the papers, so why wouldn't you want to look your best. Doesn't mean she'll be like this come the 6th! And loads have people have tan's in the winter months so not sure aht thats got to do with it.

Some of the papers have slagged her of a bit saying "Fake Tan WAG ect" But where i got the photo's from actually complemented her. To be fair it isn't over the top fake tan like a few months ago wen the papers were slagging her off.

I mean that the brown is a bit "too" brown. You just look it it and it screams fake tan!!!!!!!!!!! Not good at all IMO.

Personally I think she looks more organe than brown (and I'm not a fan of fake tans either) but I really don't think these pix will have any negative impact on people's decision to watch Daybreak. I just don't think they're that important?

This won't be the only announcement - or news story, for that matter - about Daybreak. These shots are designed to be used again and again and again and for that reason will now be on library with each newspaper.

Look at this, for example. A story from The Guardian about the success of The One Show, using a photograph of its then presenters, Christine Bleakley and Adrian Chiles, on the set of The One Show (and early on, looking at the sofa). Daybreak will similarly need photos for the papers to use whenever an article or news story is published, for good or for bad, and so far the only ones on record will be of Christine and her tanning.

Apart from anything I'm sure the papers are now limited as to photos of CB and AD, as I'm sure they can't now use BBC photos from The One Show-era to discuss former BBC employees about non-BBC items, so this should be one of the best they've got. Just seems very over-tanned to be long term useful to me, and would look very out of place in an article published in January.

I can't believe we're discussing this aspect of the publicity shots so much - I really don't think it's issue.

Yes, newspapers will now have to rely on these shots of both presenters, but I really doubt viewers will switch off (or on to) Daybreak just because the Sun might print a picture of fake-tanned Christine in January.

At no point did I - or to my knowledge anyone else - suggest viewers "will switch off" because of the photos. I was simply saying that from a publicity perspective I'm sure the team aren't as ecstatic as they could have been over the photos. Love them or hate them Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley are the thing to promote and push in people's faces and I personally know some marketers, photographers and designers who would have been mildly disappointed by photos that will no doubt have to be redone at a later date.

My comment was never meant in a particularly negative way to either the Daybreak team or to Christine Bleakley, and was more saying that (as someone who deals with professional and promotional shots, marketing and advertising on a fairly regular basis) those shots aren't 100% perfect.
