Don't know but I wondered why Calendar didn't use the Calendar South studio instead of using newsroom.
Why use the newsroom, Whiteley has 3 studios, the current one plus the old Meridian SE and Thames Valley one why not use them

Probably sold off the projector equipment by now with the large auctions being held recently. As for the YTV Calendar South studio it has been completely ripped out.

Nice idea but it involves cost, which ITV arent willing to spend on regional news.

I can't say I'm looking forward to seeing the new look here in what was the Thames Valley area. Since Meridian Tonight came back in February, I've not been able to take Fred and Sangeeta seriously as a duo. Fred's a superb presenter (despite his connections to a certain football club 
)... Sangeeta's a joke, and as for "Perky Parkin" - what a waste of time. My goldfish has got more charisma than him.
I miss the old days of Andy Craig and Hannah O'Sullivan. It's a shame there will never be a duo like that in our region again.

To what end? You would still have the same set, but just in a larger studio.
It wouldn't look any different on screen.
With Calendar they should make both studios back into one again. Have one large Calendar studio again
