The new format, which begins Sunday, has an appearance which reflects a general tendency towards simplicity and clarity with music which is more dynamic while maintaining the Al Jazeera theme. There is a distinctive addition with the use of integrated design, adapted in the form of decorative graphics which come together to form a distinct identity for the channel, in addition to a newly designed studio based on flexibility and multi-purpose programming.

He added that the new studio is versatile and capable of movement, and has multiple screens to explain and review data and graphics. It also changes the lighting for each programme, which makes the studio bright and flexibile.


No press images have been released though, I guess they want to keep it under wraps.

The ident into the news remains largely unchanged, but you can tell its been remade.

The titles themsevles are clear and modern, the music has a lot more bass to it, the studio is not what I was expecting - A little like Germany's ZIB. There is no newsroom shot, and the desk is very strange!

I like the new astons, and the way they are integrating graphics into the newswall for this show. The music is beautiful too.

Yes it looks like it is shining/glimmering a bit more. Glad they kept it.

The new look is very dull, they are presenting from a newsroom backgrounded set at the moment and it looks so grey, without anyone in the office and the computers off it looks even worse. It's almost as if they've sucked all the colour off the channel

Theres a lot of presentation points, I'll give them that:

The newswall area, with the main desk (for the main bulletins at lunchtime/evening)
The plasma area (sports/business/Moroccan news)
The newsroom desk (for news updates)
and now another desk which overlooks the newsroom (which will be used for the 30 minute bulletins)

As you said Inspector Sands, it looks very dull. I LOVE the newswall area, but the area currently being used looks plain. I think it would be better if the computer screens were switched on. Overall though, I love the music and the titles, the graphics look quite BBC/AJE. But still nice and simple.
