Quiet one as Bev bowed out of the show after "being with the BBC for 23 years" at the end of last night's main edition. Didn't catch tonights but I guess tomorrow is Geoff's last day.

Videos anyone??

Geoff left tonight and for those who didn't watch you can see it at bbc.co.uk/southeasttoday

"..the bosses told me to go, so I'm going!"

A nice dig there. Wink Shame, I wonder what's next for Geoff then? I doubt he'll get another job at the Beeb (ageism etc blah blah) that's for sure.

Well, what can one say. I've given the new 'team' a go this week and I'm sorry, not a patch on Geoff and Bev. Come on BBC, what on earth are you playing at pandering to a small 'focus group' who quite obviously outweigh the vast members of the viewing public. What is it with the BBC and these pathetic focus groups!! Be assured they hardly ever watch or listen what they are talking about.

It's a sad decision, just watch those audience figures die.

An interesting news and views report at the time of Bev & Geoff's departure. Much are "disgraced from Tunbridge Wells" (to coin a good phrase) and switching to Meridian! Not sure what is worse these days to be honest.

Anyone know why there was no 8pm opt on BBC One SE on DSAT on Friday? What happened on other platforms?

Also, is it Rob Smith or Polly Evans who have their talk back turned up so loud that the viewer is able to hear the director?

Don't suppose anyone saw none other than Reading-born Ricky Gervais appearing on Meridian Tonight? Apparently the studio had a full audience and Fred turned into some crazed compere at the very end - made for some bizarre viewing!

Next week in the bid to save regional news, Robert De Niro visits the studio to discuss a new movie he's filming in Brighton.

(i'm joking) Fair play to the Meridian crew though. Ricky Gervais and 'Swing your Pants' Parkin sharing the same sofa..who'd have thought it. It's not everyday they get Belvers in the studio let alone Gervais.

Is BBC London still coming from their headquarters in a new purpose built studio or are they broadcasting from somewhere else?

I just caught the end of it- he looked pretty much embarrassed to be there, they also had Aunt Sally from Worzel Gummidge on the sofa- or was that Amanda Piper?
