As mentioned in the Presenters thread, Stuart Flinders was back on NWT this evening, reporting from Aintree. He must have finished his time at the BBC News Channel. Does anyone think he'll ever return to the channel, or have they pretty much finished with him?

I reckon he'll return over the summer. Stuart Flinders did afterall appear on the N.C in the weeks before the April 2008 rebrand, then disappeared, and reappeared a few months later. I think I read somewhere that he was on a 5 month contract with the News Channel (which I presume has ended) but wasn't there a similar situation with Sophie Long (who still appears on the channel)? Dan Pallet (Midlands Today) disappeared from the channel for a month or so, but has since reappeared as well.
Maybe he'll just be occasional cover, but did seem to naturally inherit Chris Lowe's weekend slot with Anita.
On last night's NWT it was noticeable that all reporters signed off with "name, BBC North West Tonight" as opposed to the usual "name, North West Tonight".

I've noticed that too. Sounds a bit clumsy and too long, but maybe just needs getting used to. Perhaps the regions should just say BBC News if they think they need to hammer the BBC brand more?
Has anyone noticed the cue cards presenters use when doing an OB. Tony had them a few months in Rome, Gordon has them today at Tatton - there black and red (bbc clamshell look) with north west tonight logo on them? It also looks like the globe is turned to the a map of the north west too.
Strange, could this of been an unaired look of NWT before the 2007 relaunch?

They've signed off as "<name>, BBC Look North, <location>" for years in these parts.
I'm surprised the outcue in the NW isn't "BBC North West" to save re-doing the voice over if the same report was transmitted at Lunchtime on North West Today and North West Tonight.

I don't watch NWT often so I haven't noticed the cards you mention - but I did see a microphone being used last week when they went to Cartmel Racecourse that had the current branding on (BBC News logo on one side and the new NWT logo on the other). If they've gone to the effort to do that then it's very strange indeed that the cue cards have an old design on them.
