Don't know if anyone else has noticed, but the ITV logo has been altered on the national weather. The white itv text is now black.
Yeah and doesn't it look ugly! White, blue, yellow and now black on that banner.. it's a mish-mash of ugly clashing colours.
The entire look of the ITV National Weather looks terrible. I'm all for simple, clear and concise information (the reason that this current look was introduced) but that solid blue background (coupled with the plain blue and yellow straps) is awful to look at - a 'sky' type effect like they used to use would look much better. AFAIK some ITV regions use a sea/sky-hybrid backdrop on the local forecasts, which looks much better.
I wish the BBC would sort out the lighting in their weather studios - Laura Tobin looked as if she had green hair on the forecast on the news channel just now. Peter Gibbs often has a green outline too.

Granada used to have a sea-ish background on their forecasts when the plain look was introduced in 2005...
...I didn't see what was wrong with the old Granada (North & South) graphics, although they looked plain, they were pretty simple, they just needed a bit of colour and it would have looked okay Nationally.
I think Jon Mitchell still uses it on some Yorkshire TV forecasts. Same with Kerrie Gosney. I don't know if it's just a YTV thing because I've noticed it being used even on Border forecasts in the past. I've attached some caps I had of recent and past GMG North forecasts with that background:
I think that would spruce up all the forecasts IMHO. Beats boring (old) ITV blue.
I know it's not UK weather related, but CTV Toronto (Canada) said goodbye to their meteorologist Dave Devall this past Friday (April 3rd) who's retired after
48
years on the job! It's actually a world record for someone to have done a job like that for so long and Guiness World Records recognised this achievement on his last CTV (Toronto) News. I do go out to Toronto regularly so I've seen some of his forecasts. His summary method is awesome too. He had a plexiglass window where he'd draw and write the forecasted weather, both backwards and doing so with both hands! If only weather presenters over here were allowed to do so! CTV has a website dedicated to him: http://toronto.ctv.ca/dave/
Is there any sort of rota for BBC London weather during Breakfast? I've seen Kate Allen do Mon-Tues,and Wendy Hurrell Weds-Fri,and vice versa, but I also saw one week when Wendy was on all week except Tuesday when Kate did it. Last week Wendy was only on on Friday. This week Dan Corbett was on yesterday and Kate today.

I've done a quick search but didn't get anything back - but how long has Fred Talbot (he of This Morning floating weather map fame) been doing Central's weather?
