Saw Penguins before Diagnosis Murder today, was very apt considering the snowy weather some of us have been having today. It's really grown on me as an ident and always makes me smile.

Oh lord, another Lottery blunder with the Thunderball machine.

Basically the selector flute didn't select a ball.

Oh and while I'm here, I cannot stand Duncan James.. the smug prat!

And we got the well rehersed "there seems to be a problem" speech and the stop traffic hand. It's so cheesey it's untrue.

I agree... but at least Martin McClure seems a bit less bland and dull as the other drawmaster, Matt...

Perhaps so but it's still awful the way it's presented. I think I'd rather have the draws recorded (broadcast online if necessary) with Alan or even the Continuity Announcer reading the results out over a slide. Simple and bearable.

Something else I noticed was that the Thunderball music and beds continued way into the Dream Number sting.

How long have the Thunderball machines been in service now? The Lotto machines were replaced several years ago, and the Dream Number machine is quite recent, I know, because the draw only started (?) last year. That would mean, providing the Thunderball machines haven't been replaced, that they're the oldest of the lot, and therefore more likely to act up (which they have been doing lately).

Did anyone just see the 8pm junction?

The promos finished fine, but just before the BBC1 ident up popped a BBC2 short ident/sting. It looked like the Heroes "2" logo.

certainly looked like a deliberately placed bumper rather than an accidentally cut up source

Season 2 of Heroes is due to begin on BBC2 in around a fortnight, so I wouldn't be surprised if the Heroes ident and stings were trundled out again.

They are doing Heroes stings now but what happened to these 2 Dimensions trailers that BBC2 were supposed to be rolling out?

Sorry this is on the wrong thread but I was replying. Incidentally is there any gossip about possible new idents coming up on BBC1?

Yeah, I actually saw the Heroes '2' flash up on BBC2 last night I think, so it must be for that. Smile

National Lottery - I've said it before and I'll say it again - how annoying is Alan Deadicoat on the lottery? The voice of the balls has become a cringeworthy out of vision second host - with his shouted phrases and embarrasing attempts at humour.

Let's have a time check Alan ........

Alan it's TIME to GO!
