Please bring back the old format, its so boring now. The studio is ugly, the old one was so nice and the sofa area was colourful with multicoloured cushions and it was homely. Now its like an office just painted white with a sofa and reflective thing dotted randomly.

Does anyone have video of the new titles (if there is any and if there is it obviously won't have simon, fearne and sarra. (Bring back TSSE!)

FEARNE AND SIMON WERE SUCH A GOOD TEAM

No titles I'm affraid Simon C. The show started with Jake, Simon and Angellica in that Kitchen set (used for the 'Who wants to win a Meal on Air' sketch thing), saying that they'd forgotten something, it turned out that they'd forgotten the saturday show.

Then between that and the actual show starting they just used one of the stings! That they haven't changed a bit, even though they don't go with the new set.

The set is a bit harsh being all white. It's well made, but I can see that they will start to light up the white sheeting in different colours over the next few weeks.

I wouldn't have minded if they'd done new titles which have a white background to match.

Some of the things weren't bad. It was very fully booked how the audience were lounging around, and the fact that they didn't make any noise through most of the show (it was like the first MoM).
The games where they fed the breakfast into Simon & Jake and the 'Gunge Grant' game was OK.

It could have been better, but then again, it could have been a lot worse. This series has a new Exectutive producer too.

I can't really see how the format has changed that drastically. They still play games, and they don't do that many sketches. It seems that they could just have more moments when they sit on the couch and talk to each other, like the old letter slots, and give Simon a character to play, infact they could bring Brucie Grant back for the end game, when it's like a conveyerbelt (sp?).

Not fond of the new set, as it's white, but perhaps if colours were added in the background it could look better.
It would be a great studio for TOTP Saturday if they ever want to integrate the two, though I can't see that. I don't think that TOTP were impressed with last years BBC Scotland version, so they just stick to their own!

I qwatched the saturday show for an hour this morning, and it really reminded me of the first episode of the ministry of mayhem - ie very little seemed to work. Classic BBC Scotland really.

Two things puzzle me about Saturday morning tv these days

1. Where the hell have all the guests gone? I'm sure it's not just my imagination that a couple of years ago you could attract a couple of bands, 2 or three actors, and a 'serious' guest? Now your lucky to get the cheeky girls and someone from family affairs.

2. Why have the BBC got chosen to produce their guest driven saturday morning format in Glasgow, and their cheap to make/ ugly kids as guests one in London. Surely booking would be easier doing it the other way around?

Of course I'm way to old for childrens tv anyway - But I would say that I think that the Ministry of Mayhem has become a strong program. I was even laughing at some of it this morning.

Holly Willoughby remains as wonderful as ever.

We all watch for our own reasons, ok?

It's just not right and why no Saturday Show Extra? They could of done with Sara and Simon presenting The Saturday Show or Angelica and Simon. I'm sorry - but adding a third person, there was no need, especially jake, he's such a prat (sorry for his biggest fan ever who's come on this site).

I agree with you 100% there was no need to axe The Saturday Show Extra, It could have been shown over on the CBBC Channel straight after The Saturday Show (as before) at 10am instead of a duplicate feed of The Mysti Show Rolling Eyes.
Though, It looks like we'll be getting Smile Extra instead on the CBBC Channel between 10am - 11am on Sunday.
Mind you it probably wasn't commissioned on the basis that The Saturday Show is now just a summer replacement programme.

I agree that adding the third person seems pointless. Why not stick to two presenters? At least to get something different ... I mean SM:tv is remembered best for two guys and a girl, so now:
MOM is two guys and a girl (Michael, Steven and Holly)
The Saturday Show is two guys and a girl (Simon, Jake and Angellica)
Heck, even S4C's equivalent (Uned 5) is two guys and a girl (Gethin, Gareth and Lisa)!!! What's up with these presenting line-ups?!

Well I watched TSS this morning and can safely say that from now on, I'll stick with Ministry of Mayhem. I thought TSS looked a bit bland and boring, whereas MoM was lively and in ya face (which is what I like on a Saturday morning)

Personally I thought that the format that The Saturday Show had before it took a break was excellant, and the set was far better. I think that they should have kept some of the games / features and introduced a few new ones. I would also like to see TOTP Saturday integrated into TSS or atleast if TOTP was more live then they could do a 'link up' to Fearne.

Still prehaps like MOM it will dramatically improve within a few weeks.

Incidentally, did Simon Grant get gunged? I missed that bit. Although to be honest, I'll be able to tell next week as I doubt he'll have washed the gunge out of his hair.

No he didn't, the kid did though.

Sadly not. The kid got gunged (It seemed to go on forever though)

The last series of the Saturday Show was really good. It had a real 'show' feel to it, a big Saturday Morning feelgood extravaganza! I watched this morning's show, and thought that practically the entire thing fell flat on its face. Jokes weren't funny, even the simplest of games didn't really work, whether it was the choice of child or bad planning I don't know.

Highlights of the last series: Gareth / Westlife / Whoever Karaoke, some real talent there, and that Play Your Cards Right rip off. The jokes used to be funny, where as todays sketches weren't even amusing (Angelica's Missy Elliott impression?!)

The time slot doesn't work either. Viewers are used to Saturday Morning programmes really just starting to get going at 10 o'clock, and this one ends! The guests were pretty bad, apart from McFly, and the studio was really awful. From my memories of Fully Booked and FBi, you could really tell that this was a BBC Scotland production... at least the Saturday Show from Glasgow last year had the London version to base itself on, so kept factors like the stage with videowall. This set is just dull, and not changing the titles and music despite the new look is just cheap.

All in all... really bad. It needs to go back to the old format.
