Well, ITV2 slowly axed all 3 spin offs over the years. Xtra Factor kinda made sense (although the last series saw it to improve again..)

But, to my knowledge, BGMT & Extra Camp performed OK. Ironically this year, they probably could’ve done with both to boost new content hours.

Didn’t dancing on ice also have a spin off in the early days ?

There was Dancing on Ice: Defrosted which aired at 5pm weekdays I think.

Defrosted was hosted by Stephen Mulhern in-between the live show and results and I believe following the results on the Saturday during the first series.

There was an ITV (1 as it was then) programme hosted by Andi Peters and Andrea McClean that started part way through the series (with Andi & Andrea featuring as skaters on the series).

Both on lasted for the first series in 2006, as far as I’m aware.

It would have been nice if the music was updated for the titles. It still makes you think Australia, but what could they have done to make it sound Welsh?
Keep the melody, but use different instruments? Something celtic.

As Steddenm said though they did have a weekday spin off at some point, and also a spin off once or twice a week at 8pm against EastEnders on either Monday or Friday (or both). Think that may have been with Ben Shepherd and Coleen Nolan.

ITV2 of course have had new UK programming five nights a week at 10pm for the last few weeks which is likely where a chunk of the budget has gone. Not sure how the ratings have been, but be surprised if they top Extra Camp. That said the I'm a Celeb spin off has always been somewhat lower profile than the likes of Little Brother and Xtra Factor, mainly thanks to changing personnel every couple of series.

P.S. 10.9m viewers last night, up from 10m last year.

I should have pointed out that Extra was the daytime show. There was a programme called ‘Dancing on Ice Friday’ too.

During ITV's 5pm desperation period

Regarding 'Extra Camp' although I did enjoy it, no more than 10% of ITV1 viewers would watch it, and it has a lower profile due to being on a 'digital' channel (It takes two being on BBC2, extra slice being on the same channel in the same slot as the actual main show)

Well they were designed for digital spin offs and 10% of the ITV(1) audience is still 2 to 3 times the usual ITV2 audience. Always wondered though how it might have done on ITV after the news.

Didn't I'm A Celebrity has a daytime show at one point, I swear it was a panel show hosted by Philip Schofield that aired at 5pm during I think the 2006 or 2007 season?
